This is going to be a great event. Junk food alley and several beer tents close by. Should be plenty of things for the wives to do while your crawling.

The comp is during the 3 Rivers Festival some 30 odd or so years running. It a pretty big 9 day series of events and general partying and festival type stuff. Most of the fun will be centered around Headwaters Park and well within walking distance.

http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=Fo...eocode=ADDRESS

This is the general park area we'll be comping in the north west area of the park near the river likely parking on the end of Calhoun (near jail) or on a side street parking off Harrison along the river near the west edge of the park.

The 3RF committee has a list of Crawler related vendors and is supposed to score some door prizes:023: and such. We are following up with that this week, unfortunately they seem a little put off on the low initial entry list most folks (myself included) have not mailed entry yet :shrug2: , but I have submitted for the day off work.

info about the Rock the Fort comp is starting to come in, and its better than I had first thought.

There will be a cash pay out to 1st-3rd
1st $500
2nd $250
3rd $ 100

Hmm Three Rivers Festival only reports having 1 entry that would be Ben. I guess he gets the $500 for just showing up!

Also door prizes are confirmed I just do not have the info on what they are.

The event is July 18th so if you want to pre register you should mail at least a week in advance. There is only one class 2.2. This will be a great event with the Festival going on and all, hope you can make it.

I have more info: If you have a easy up or some thing like it, bring it. You will also need chairs and table. There is some room under the trees next to the river but not much.

I would recommend:

Fort Wayne Hotel & Conference Center
(260) 422-5511
300 E. Washington Blvd.
$69.00 + tax mention TRF

As it is just a few blocks away from the park and all the TRF events, this would be a great mini vacation event to go to!

Hear is the event area:

The hole side walk, and some of the circle grass area, and under the trees in the grass will be for pit area. AC power will be available.

This place is great for spectators to come and watch the crawling.

How far away from parking is the comp area? Basically, how far do I have to carry my gear??

Is this pay-out dependent on attendants?

I am not sure. That side walk leads right to the parking for competitors and its not that far.

No. If one guy shows up he gets the $500.

I'm sure some of us will have 2 wheel carts, or a Radio Flyer to help shuttle gear. This thing should be pretty nuts. This will be my first cash payout crawl.

Rode the bicycle down to the park today. Looks like the first load of rocks have been delivered. Saw some wood elements and large boulders. Should be pretty cool when it comes together.
