Each state can have as many competitors as they would like. If a state has less than the needed 5 drivers, they will be given a "wild card" driver. These will be made up of drivers that come to compete without the support of others from there same state. These "wild cards" will be considered "wild cards" if there is only 1-2 drivers from there state. To be considered a competition state, the state will need to have at least 3 competitors. If, for any reason, a state ends up competing with less than five drivers, the HIGHEST score for that state will be counted enough times to fill the 5 score limit.

So technically, we can lose to people that we actually beat?

I thought it was going to be just the top scores went to finals.

It is the top driver from each of the top 5 states. So technically, you could loose to someone you beat if they are the top driver in there state and your the top driver from your state and you can't hang!!

So we kick there ass on scores but we dont go to finals because a team mate gets a lower score, we cant hang?

I will be there either way though.

Just make sure your score is the lowest there and you don't have anything to worry about!!!

This is to see how good you are. If somebody gets lucky once, then they better be lucky twice if they want to win.

Also, in the situation were there might only be 3 of us from 1 state, you will take the HIGHEST, not average score, to figure out the total average as if there were 5? Why wouldn't you do a average of the 3? Any state coming with less then 5 is allready at a dissadvantage anyway (bringing less talent).

In my example below
Team 1 "actual" driver average is 50
Team 2 "actual" driver average is 20

Team 2 didn't out drive Team 1

Its a TEAM competition, so bring a TEAM

Personally I would give all missing drivers a DNS (50pts). In my mind they are giving you a break with a high score.

In my example above Team:2 still wins.

Renoirbud I reread the thread and still come up with this!

Forgive me for asking a few questions........550 miles is a long way to travel to not know wtf going on. Ofcoarse if you guys think you have enough talent signed up allready, I'll post my question for another comp rather then spending my money coming to this.
