| 801RCC '09 Comp, Event #7 "Descent into Darkness" Descent into Darkness This is the 3nd annual "Descent into Darkness". If you ask anyone in Utah "what's the best crawl'n comp to attend in the state", this is it!! With 801RCC's Point Series all finished up we can relax a bit and just compete for fun (as it always should be) You have a great crawling location, great camping location, great prizes, and great people. "Descent into Darkness" is the most talked about comp in the state and more people look forward to this comp than any other. -when- July 11th '09 3:00pm Course setup 3:45pm Pics and drivers meeting 4:00pm Competition starts This comp runs a little different than most comps. We'll be running 3 courses starting at 4pm and another 2 courses after dark (hope to start night courses at 10:30pm) We will have a trophy's for the top 3 drivers and a special "Light Show" trophy for the best looking lighted rig -where- "Little Moab" Elberta, Ut. NAME: Little Moab LOCATION: Elberta TERRAIN: White slickrock/sand TRACTION: Varies med to high If you plan to attend "Descent into Drakness" we suggest camping over night. This comp will likely run very late into the night. We strongly suggest having LED's or some kind of lights mounted to your rig, the more the better. Light Show stipulations Judges will vote on witch rig they like the best. Only one winner will be picked. The rig and or body must be ran through both night courses. It's not necessarily who has the most lights, it's the overall look of the rig with the lights on. With "Descent into Darkness" being on a Saturday night even if you work Saturday or Sunday, you still should be able to make it to this one. I'm sure that there will be some people who won't be able to talk their mommies in to letting them stay up past their bedtimes, but even they could still get 3 courses in B4 bed -Sponsors/Donators- WV Hobbies RC Planet Axial J Concepts HPI Racing (more to follow) USRCCA Rules http://www.usrcca.com/usrcca_rules_2...-09-master.pdf -Judges- NazT78 SV Bob SPECIAL ED Mac10 Join 801RCC as we descend into darkness. Well I'm way excited for "Descent" this is still my favorite comp all year. A bunch of us readied the comp bag last night (thanks for the help). Here's a pic of some screwing around last night with the glow sticks. Hope everyone is ready. |

Louie from H & R Stone came through again with some sick trophies. H & R Stone has been a long time supporter of 801RCC so if you need/want any stone work such as address rocks or such hit them up their work is top notch they also do mugs and other glass too. Here are the trophies for "Descent" And the Best Light's Also can't forget the top dogs in the 2009 Point Series. These guys are the best and most consistent drivers in the state. See you beotches at "Descent into Darkness" |

The third annual Descent into Darkness was a blast!!! I swear it gets better and better every year. I want to thank the sponsors again. The raffle was awesome. Darrell's son winning the SXC10 was great. Thanks to the judges and everyone that helped out. The weather couldn't have been any better. The comp courses were definitely challenging, you really had to drive for your points. I saw some great driving too. I had even more fun just hanging out with everyone, to me that's the best thing about the comps. Everyone was in great spirits and having a good time. There were a few people that just came to hang. The light show was sweet. There were some sick light setups. We finished up the courses earlier than the past years witch was nice. There were a bunch of new people and some people not seen at a comp in years. There are so many things awesome I could type a novel on this comp. I hope everyone had a blast, I know I did, and can't wait for the next one. I had to work today and only slept for an hour or so. I'll try to get scores up soon. Descent into Darkness Sponsors H&R Stone, Axial, HPI Racing, WV hobbies, RC planet, Racers Edge, Mad Mans Hobby, Kaotic Krawler, J Concepts, TC West, LindsayMachine, and some of the competitors, Sorry if I missed any |

These are some pics Dirty Mike (he's the old man with the limp ____ ), and Pat (Michael Moore lookin guy with the big camera ) took while they were hangin with 801RCC. Some of the scenery pics are incredible and shows how nice the weather was, some of the others are just "classic" |
