Default Yaaaaaa,,,

I'm in Grand Junction CO, (OutCast Crawlers) where there dude!!

I think that people should be able to modified there tires though, as long as they still look the part (scaled) because it use to be the ONLY way to get a true scaler was to hand make your stuff. Cutting, reduceding and narrowing is sometimes part of that. As long as its still scaled its part of the custom work put into it, its just as much apart of the build as the lights or what not.
Are we going to be able to use winchs if we have them? We get points for them but can we use them.

And will there be water ?????

My yota / Hilux doesn't have a snorkel so it doesn't do water yet.
Can't wait,,,,,,,,,,

Dude, I've read this thing like 3 times now. Is there a tire size restriction to this shindig? Other then cutting, reduceding and narrowing?
I've got the Flat Irons and just ordered the Rock Crushers. I'm kind of new to rccrawler so maybe I'm missing something.
And where are these other Adventures your talking about? Are they nere Colorado? I wanta go.

Yes, there is a tire restriction to this one in October. Tires must be under 108mm. Flatirons and Rock Crushers fall within that rule along with 5-10 more good tires.

The other adventures are in Utah around Salt Lake City. You can find more info on those at utrcrc.freeforums.org

As far as modified tires, it's not going to happen. We've been running with the unmodified tire rule now for 6-8 months and have been really happy with it. It helps to keep the competition closer and we've got great tire choices now. Really, it's aimed towards no narrowing and reducing tires.

I've modified more tires than most in my time crawling and am still really happy with having the rule of no modified tires

Kaetwo can clear up the winch thing but I think that winches will be allowed on bonus lines but winches will not be required.

Where this adventure is there is no water at all unless it rains a ton right before or during.

Tire mods are not allowed during this Adventure but future Adventures throughout the year may have that restriction lifted depending on the theme chosen.

Winching is allowed at not penalty other than time will be running. Each course has a 6 min time limit so you won't have a whole lot of time to winch. We will place bonus lines in the course as well that may require you to winch.

No water

There seems to be a lot of confusion pertaining to what an Adventure is.

UTRCRC holds 4-5 Adventures a year, each Adventure consists of 2-3 Events. An Event is simply a day of scale competition which happens on the last Saturday of each month.

Our first Adventure had an Arctic theme to it. The second was a CC-01 Adventure. The third what a Spec Scale Adventure and the forth will be an Unlimited Scale Adventure. The fifth Adventure is the Utah Scale Championship and we'll wrap things up with a sixth Adventure called the All-American Adventure.

The basic premis is that each Adventure has a theme. There are general rules that we follow consistantly (see below) for each Adventure, however the theme may dictate something new with each Adventure, for example "A competator must us an body that represents an American made vehicle" or something to that effect. The theme is what makes the Adventures so fun and different through out the year.

http://utrcrc.freeforums.org/utrcrc-...ture-t143.html

The theme for this Adventure can be found on page 1 however feel free to paruse the link above and get a feel for how we have run them in the past.

I wanted to clarify how UTRCRC measures tire size.

With the rig off the ground and letting foam resize/reform, your tire must be less than 108mm

DO NOT measure your tires while your rig is on the ground

Well....The 2 minutes I've driven with them they seem really good I'm hoping to be able to get some better testing tomorrow. I've been so busy with work I haven't had time for fun. That's a huge part of the reason I can't go to Worlds. When you own a business having 25% off your work force leave in a 2 week period and most of the rest going back to college this week so they are going part time is not good for your hobbies
