| PARC - December 4th - Rock Racing Comp- Spec/Drivers Class Comp- Get together
Sunday December 4th we will have the comps that we could not fit in this past Sunday at BB11. Location TBA. Start time is 9am. - Rock Racing Comp - Spec/Drivers Class Comp - Nylint Comp - Get together This will be more laid back and since the comps are not part of a points series people can just get together and crawl for fun if they wish. Rock racing will be time based with penalties for gate markers only. No penalties for anything else (rollover, reverse, etc). Mike, Chad, and myself have spec/drivers class trucks built. My truck will be available for use by anyone that wants to run this class and try it out. Spec/Drivers class is focused on: • Cost Reduction • Spec Class (focus on drivers performance, not vehicle performance) • Easy for newcomers to enter the class • Easy to find challenging terrain o Servos limited to 150oz-in of torque. o No adjustable motor mounts (13 tooth pinions – Clod) o 2ws o 4 link type suspension required. o Battery must be mounted on chassis. o No BTA steering. o 6 cell sub-c packs required o Servo Savers required o 14” Wheelbase (13.75” to 14” allowable, no more, no less) o Tire size will be limited (Specs to come – No 40 series – Currently available tires only) o Body must include grill, tailgate, and full doors. All these specs are still up in the air and can be changed or altered. Remember PARC members, the club is yours, we are just here to do your bidding. The location is not decided on yet. There are some great new piles of rock at papago park, but they would be horrible for rock racing. I'm thinking maybe 24th street at south mountain park. Directions to this location can be found here: http://www.thecrawlerstore.com/Events.html Last edited by kevinlongisland; 11-28-2005 at 10:30 PM. | |

grover will be scouting out a new spot tomorrow. We'll see how that looks. The only problem with 24th street is that allot of us have been there before (old stomping grounds) and the possibility of park ranger problems. We'll see what happens after grover scouts out the new spot.

The spot is in the OHV area opposite lost dutchmen state park on the west side of the 88. If you are coming from the phoenix area on 60 you can exit on Idaho which is also listed as 88. There is a large dirt parking lot for anyone without a permit. The mile marker is 202-203, and the trail number on the gate is 1356. The spot is up the trail/jeep road and around the first corner(short walk) but not visable from the parking lot. Last edited by grover; 12-01-2005 at 06:17 PM. Reason: adding trail number |

I've been sick and the shops been hopping with X-mas biz. If all goes well I'll be there. I can't wait to see the crawl spot.

I was just searching for the location and hear is some added info. This is way out east, so sorry you west valley guys. Take 60 east towards Apache junction. Look for the 88/Idaho Rd exit. Make a left (north) onto 88/Idaho. At North Apache Trail make a right heading North/East. Like Grover stated, once on N. Apache Trail keep an eye on the mile markers and look for 202-203 mile marker, trail number on the gate is 1356. "The spot is up the trail/jeep road and around the first corner(short walk) but not visible from the parking lot."

thats only 8 minutes from my house. if the event is up there i can go but id have to leave at 1130. i think the area down in the "wash" would be perfect. for clarification purposes the only sigh at the road is a brown sign that says "bulldog canyon OHV park" you pull off 88 and on to a dirt driveway and then you come to the parking lot. |

Thanks to all that made it out. The rock racing was fun, more so because it was much more laid back then usual. Grover, i know you ran the unlimited through the rock racing course but I could not find your time. Do you remember it? Here are the results:
