I usually show up about a half-hour or so before official opening time. And Mike, those Zylo things are pretty cool, maybe you could sharpen the leading edge for more injury potential? Might leave a nice circular scar in Kevin's butt?

I'll be there a little early as well. It's on poker night but I have enough notice that I've excused myself from the game.

So, what's on tap for Friday Mike? Razored Zylo's and full-auto airsoft wars? I'll bring my "special" padded helmet with attached drool bucket. I'm thinking a 30 gate course, and rock racing to the death. Bring on the big pinions!

I'm working ordering right now for the store and got a pile of work on my desk here at the moment.

I was going to post my plans here in a bit but got a bit sidetracked with something else ....

I've got what I think is a cool idea planned...can't wait to share.

So here’s what I’m planning for Friday night.

We’re finishing up an intense month-long series the night before. I would like to loosen it up a bit and do something completely different and hopefully we’ll all have a good time in the process.

Remember the show – PRO’s vs JOE’s?

We’re going to do something similar but different.
We’re gonna do PRO’s & JOE’s.

We’ve got some tremendous talent, knowledge and driving experience coming to our course regularly and not everyone knows each other or has had the opportunity to meet each other. I’d like to change that. I've had that opportunity, I know you all and I think you guys are a great bunch!

So we are going to team a PRO driver up with a “JOE” driver. You’re going to compete as a team. And to encourage the Pro’s to help the Joe’s out and for the Joe's to really take advantage of this opportunity and learn - The total score of the team will be counted.

Who’s a PRO and who’s a JOE? Well that will be my nightmare! I will have to figure that out on Friday night based on who is there. Have confidence in me, I will get ‘er done.

My thought is anyone who has placed in the top 3 spot at a HobbyTown Comp is a PRO. Anyone who regularly competes at comps outside of HTU is a PRO. Anyone who has compers at a big events - norcal finals/WCC/Worlds, etc. is a PRO.

I’m hoping most of you will not need to have your ego stroked in this and take it for what’s it worth – this is very cool opportunity to meet a new guy, help a guy, learn from a guy, etc. And JOE doesn't mean NOVICE… I’ll be the first to say – make me a JOE, I’m always up for learning something new!

So based on that info, just to give them a heads up, these guys (if they come) are for sure being labeled as PRO’s based on previous comps at HTU –

Stuck
DPDsurf
JeepinDoug
Ratterd
Rockcad
YotaChump
Bcrofts
LittleX
Yotachump
Gunnar
Mfawv
Ncalkrawler
SaxtonSlaughter
Jammin311
Ynmech
Daniel F.
Marc/CVRC

Remember, don’t take this the wrong way. I’m just basing this off the criteria above We need to have an even amount of both.

Here’s one more twist - We’re gonna make up two courses. One will be a PRO course driven as normal and one will be a JOE course. Everyone will run both courses.

The twist is, the JOE course you will NOT be able to use DIG AT ALL. If you get caught using DIG – instant DQ no exceptions.

We’re going back to basics on this one. I’d like to build a course that has some forced reverses and really make you think about the best way to attack a course. You PRO guys are going to show everyone what driving skill and strategy means and how important it is to putting up a winning score and that it isn’t always just about your rig.

Now I realize there may be some guys out there that are thinking – L-A-M-E! That’s okay I don’t mind. A lot of people think I’m goofy. I can live with it. You don’t have to come and do this…I don’t mind. I’ll have fun with out ya!

My last surprise though to entice anyone crying foul, for all you PRO’s out there who think – what the hell is in this for me?

$100 HobbyTown Gift Card to the winning team ($50/$50) is what’s in it for you!

That’s right….Uncle Mike is going to make it worth your while for sure!

sounds like a good idea. i like the concept. should bring out some good competition with out getting super serious.
like you said mike it'll actually give a chance for people to put names/screen names with faces. might i suggest name tags... nothing beats "hello my name is"

now the only question is, who do I get "Stuck" with? hahahaha
