South Bay Scalers King of Mini Hammers event

September 7th at 9am we'll have the first KOMH race. It's going to be a grueling long cousre with knarly rock sections and some killer speed sections.
Rules are as follows:

I'll design a long course, much longer than any other crawling course before. It'll have some knarly rock sections some high speed sections and some stuff in between.

Rig: No rig will be able to run a multi geared transmisson, batteries will be limited to 6 or 7 cell stick packs or 2s lipos. We need to keep it far. I'd like to limit it to brushed motors too. All other 1.9 rules apply. I doubt we'll worry about scale points since it's a timed event. What are your thoughts?

Race: It will be a timed event. Due to the lack of judges and contestants we'll one rig at a time. The course will consist of gates to guide the drivers to the finish. Bonus gates will also be spread out thru the course. The bonus gates will give the drivers a time deduction of 30 sec. for each gate cleanly progressed thru. Any roll-over/touch that can't be driven out of will cost the drivers a 30 sec. penalty. Fastest time wins.

Everyone will end up being a judge so read the rules please.

Post up if you can make it

That sux for the people that run 3s lipos. That'll be a huge disadvantage with a 2s lipo.

well when some of use are using stick packs I don't see it being a disavantage.

The KOMH race went fairly well. We had to make up a few rules as we went but thats exactly what this event was for. The course was roughly half a mile, starting with a climb, then a 6 foot drop into a dry canal then a fast section broken up here and there with some rocks. Then we climbed out of the canal to the hardest part of the course. A 60 yard dash up a knarly canyon to the finish. I'll upload pics tonight, hopefully. The wife has filled our harddrive with 35GB of pics and 20GB of video

My computer is full. No memoery at all. I had Nick upload them to his computer then to Nor-cal. I"ll try to put sometihng together when I have some memory. The videos are fine but I'll piece them together into one movie.
