The lower or upper gate marker? I was watching the upper one all day and I felt that all of the calls were fair and consistent.

its to hard to explain. I know a couple of guys saw what i saw, and if they used the same line and clear the gate then good for them. All i can do i wait longer before i run to see what the judges are calling and what they're not.

But enough of that!

Great comp! Met a lot of cool dudes, had a blast, and cannot wait til the next one!

All I can say is that the judges are human and as a result not perefect but every judge I know tries their best the call things the same way for every driver.

Thanks for bringing that up. I always appriciate the feedback. I know what you're talking about, and it's being addressed for future comps. It was my fault for the gate placement there, totally needed to think Berg acrobatics and I just didn't. I'm always learning more and more about hosting great comps, one of these days I get to be part of a flawless one!

Thanks agin for coming over to run with us. Hope to see you guys over our way again!

I know exactly what TANK is talking about.
The lower gate was obvious if touched, the upper gate however was not.

If the driver took the rock straight up, then quick burned left, it would seem the wheel hovered then straddled the right gate.

Perspective is a huge issue here.

Down from the sidewalk, was a completely different perspective on that gate then up on the course. But it was also a very hard call with a burst of wheel speed.

I'm guilty of knowing it could have been called either way, and lucked out.

The most important part is that the judges were consistent, which I seen to be true.

BTW, Congrats Dan and Joel on some great driving.

Thanks Doug. That makes sense. That was the marker I was watching while Charlie watched the lower one. I did my best to look straight down at it as each driver went through so that I had the best view if it was hit. Everyone who touched the gate got a 10 and a few guys who clearly hovered got a warning and had to correct it.

I tried my best to watch that gate from directly above it and I bet some of them may have looked like a straddle from below as many drivers got very very close to that gate.

Also a big hand to the course setter uppers. 3 courses,7-10 gates, and 98% no repeats for using the same crawl spot all year. Very challenging, well not for Dan. Great job everyone.
thanks dean..even though you like mike over me :-(
