These are WAAAAY cool, guys, great job! Our club is planning a TTC series for next year and we are in the process of building our trucks now. What are most of you using for trannys? I was thinking a 2 speed R2 might be good, but are 2 speeds beneficial and would an R2 be too low-geared? Maybe I should stick with my all metal geared AX10 tranny? I also have a Traxxas 2 speed/dual motor tranny, but I think the cog might be too high with it? Thanks for your opinions!

Ryan Gerrrish, the winner of the ORCRC TTC is running a Traxxas Summit 2 speed. With the 5t Puller motor, he can pull wheelies at 25 mph. Needless to say, it worked quite well in the mud bog and hill climb., but crawled nice in first.

Wow! Sounds awesome, was anyone having success with an R2-2 speed tranny? I'm wondering if the gearing would be appropriate for this type of truck. Anyone run just an AX10 gear box? I'm trying to build 2 of these beasts, (one for my son) and would like to be able to use stuff we have if possible. Thanks!

The only R2 trannies I've seen around here have been in pieces. I don't have any experience with them myself, but from what I've heard, they don't hold up too well.

If you want a 2 speed tranny the summit is the way to go. It's pretty big but works great!

Its making its way to ohio as well...we are going to be running a top truck series in the very near future. 2 top trucks showed up at our regular tues night comp, sparking a lot of interest.

FWIW, my 1.9 rok lox say comp tires on the side, my 2.2 rok lox say "Extreme Offroading".
