They had a segment on the Weather Channel last night on the rock slide. The said it would be 2 months and 2.1 million dollars to fix

hey just so everyone knows, it looks like the raccoon mtn spot is out. the managers want us to have event insurance. and they also want to get their geologist to talk to us before they allow it. the place with all the rock is directly above the caves. so the chalk or anything that we spill, or that might leak out of the trucks (shock oil, etc.), would get into the caves below. so even though it would be great, it looks like its out. steve's is a good place to crawl, i guess it will do for now. just not sure i want to drive 2 hours to someplace we've already been. just my thoughts. i'm still in.

We will revisit the same places in rotation I guess you could say all year long.Comping at the same spot several times a year is just the way it works. We just do not have enough comp spots to never see the same spot twice in a season.

On the driving 2 hours part. That's all you have to drive that must be nice.

Two new places we have this year are Ron's place and that place north of Knoxville... what was the name? Panther Creek or something like that? That's two more than last year.

Sometimes it's just better to test the waters and ask later if you have to Oh well

bah, I'm sure it has slipped his mind by now ;)

I say we use it once and see if anyone even says anything. (not this comp, but down the road)

How long did you guys use north shore before someone told you that you needed to call first?

The only bad thing about asking later is when you have 40 or 50 people driving a long ways and then you get there and get run off...That would suck and make for a lot of mad people...If I plan a comp somewhere I make sure that does not happen

Sorry about having to move it and we understand the long drives... We will have another one @ the Ocoee when they get the road fixed

Sorry to hear that, understandable though. We all hated to change it at the last minute. Weather playing a part in the comps this time of year and the road being blocked at the Ocoee....I think it was the best thing we could do. The Ocoee is one of our best locations, can't wait to get back down there.

Next time we do go down there,we need to stay away from the pavilion. That area of the Ocoee is so wore out and over run it's crazy. We need to venture away from that section and find new lines elsewhere.
