I am all for hanging out with friends and shooting the shit. The one thing that sucks about ending so late is running finals in the dark. Here are some thoughts.
  • 5 minute 10 gate courses that are possible to complete in the alloted time frame.
  • Once you have all the score sheets after tech divide them into equal groups and give them to the judges. Have a drivers meeting where the judges call out the people running their course.
  • After each driver is finished with the course give them the score sheet and let them go to whatever course they want to next.
  • If a judge sees that the line for their course is short or long have them ask someone what the other lines look like and make some people move around to equalize the lines.
If there are 50 2.2 drivers and we keep the lines pretty equal than we should be able to move through that should get us through with an 8:30 start by 12:30 or 1.

I would be more than happy to help judge mini and super which we could probably run at the same time if we have enough gate markers. Than the super and mini drivers can move through their courses and finishup around 4 or so.

Just my 2 cents.

2.2 finals won't be in the dark, they will be at 12:30. One comp finished in the dark, why does everyone have such a problem?

The drivers will be assigned numbers and courses as they sign up 1-10 will go to #1, 10-20 will go to #2, 20-30 will go to #3 and 30-40 will go to #4.

Judges do not have time to judge and keep track of lines, YOU the drivers have to do it.

I like how everyone offers to step up and judge super and 1.9 but noone offers up for 2.2, but they sure do tell how to do it.

50 drivers at 5 minute courses + 1 minute for scoresheet transfer = 5 hours....

I've been running events for years, I am where Patrick got the math from. The math is simple, take you course time +1 minute and multiply that by the number of drivers. Math doesn't lie it takes time to run that many people through the courses.

The things that hold the day up are:
Not starting on time.
Not getting in line and running your courses, you should have your rig in line when the courses start and either be sitting in line or running your rig all day until the comp is over. Each time you take your rig to the car to charge batteries, smoke a cig, cook some lunch, scratch your balls, you are holding up the event for everyone else.

I did notice that some of the people in this thread bitching happen to be known to hang out in the pits all day waiting to see everyone else find the lines for them.

You are either part of the problem or part of the solution, you need to decide which you want to be.

i'm a rookie but i'll be more than happy to help out any way I can. I'd be happy to judge in any class. I need practice. I know the basics so shouldn't be a problem.

I'm posting this late so i'll let the powers that be know that I can help at the comp tomorrow morning.

Good times today. Thanks Patrick and all.

I'm not sure what pen15 means. Some drivers just couldn't stay away from it though...

Sorry Patrick, I think it was probably a set up. ^^^

Hot diggity Dawg!! That was some crawling, the best drivers laid down some crazy lines, some of which tested the realms of reality!!

Congrats to Losi Driver Rubbaneck for the Trifecta, I think this your 2 or 3rd time dominating all three classes? All by such a spread where all you had to do is start each finals courses and you still would have won....

Slowrockr laying it down after wupping KOH and not touching his crawlers since October.....

tmyjeeper shot clean lines and some awesome pictures, thanks Tim! And yes it was a setup...

Big thanks to Ty, all the help, judges, drivers, spectators, dogs, you know!

See ya in 2 weeks sucka's!:-P

Thanks for such a great day everyone!

Patrick, Ty, Judges, Drivers, spectators and those who tallied everything too.

Nice pics, I'll get mine up later, not many.

That was the best time and event day that I can remember in along time.
