Default AUGUST 29th!Santa Rosa - FLAT ROCK Scale Event! NBRCC and Jake's Performance Hobbies!

The NBRCC gang and Jake's Performance Hobbies are very pleased to bring you the Flat Rock Scaler Jamboree!

Where: Flat Rock (Google Betty's Fish and Chips)
When: August 29th, Driver's meeting at 10AM
Why: Because it's about Time!
Who: YOU! And all the Sonoma County area scalers!

We'll have 2 classes:

1.9 Tire Scale - for Time Only. Reverse's won't count, your Scale Points are worth a time bonus. Example, 20 scale points = -20 seconds of your time!
Ex-Truck - Comp Style Scalers, same course, with very tough Bonus Gates. 2.2, Rear Steer, Dig, all welcome.

Here are the basics, Please feel free to post, email, or call the shop with anything we missed, or you think might be a good idea to add. We're very open to suggestions, so PLEASE let us know!

1.9 Tire Scale:
1.9' tire Scale – Timed Course (Prather Pinnacle style)

Course will be 10-20 gates depending on terrain, roughly a 10-15 minute course. Scoring will be “time only”.

Hitting a gate, or going out of bounds is a +30 second penalty.

Hand Recovery: (HOG) is a +3 minute penalty. Moves the truck back to the previous gate.

Repairs: on course and on the clock.

Scale Points: (Per Scale Point Guideline) are worth -1 second for every point off your final time. Example: 30 scale points = -30 seconds off your final time.

Reverses are not counted. Winching and recovery tools are encouraged to prevent HOG.

EX-TRUCK:

Ex Truck – This class will run the same main course as 1.9 class, however, there will be 3-5 bonus gates that are significantly more difficult. Comp Style Performance Adders are welcome. (IE: Rear Steer, and Dig, 2.2 tires, super light weight bodies.

The course will be scored similar to normal 2.2 Comp style, Reverse are counted, there will be a “maximum time”. 7-10 minutes.

Touching a Gate, going Out of Bounds, or Reposition will result in a +15 point penalty.

Scale points will simply count as bonus points towards your point total. Time will be used in case of a Tie Breaker.

The Scale Points Scoring System will be basically the same as we used last year:

Scale Points

Hard Body -5
Metal Bumpers -6 (-3Front/-3Rear)
Additional Metal ___________ -3 max
Plastic Bumpers (Separate from body) -4 (-2Front/-2Rear)
Leaf Springs -6 (-3Front/-3Rear)
Rescue Gear -5 max
Camping Gear -5 max
Working Winch -4
Lights -2
10 or more lights -3
Interior Must have Seat, Steering wheel and dashboard -5
Driver Figure -2
Frame Mount Servo -5
Functional Spare Tire -2

-60 Maximum Scale Points. Performance Adders do not count towards your Scale Point Total.

Ex-Truck

Performance Adder Penalty, in Tech, not per use.
Rear Dig +10
Front Dig +10
Rear Steer +10
Rear Winch Down +5

THANKS GUYS! See you on the 29th!

Man, I feel like such a lump!!! Sorry guys I haven't been active since around march. Mom passed away and Ive since fallen wayy behind. I walk past my half built rig daily sitting in the garage. Really miss the guys and doing some night runs. My (now old) ford f150 has started to collect dust.

I'm hoping to get back into the groove shortly. Hope it's not too late by weather standards. Just hard when there still a lot of loose ends to finalize.

Super glad to hear about the scaler runs and like the points system you've setup. Must be great to see all those scale trucks taking on the biggest of rocks.

I see extra points for 'over 10 lights!!!' awesome
Thanks Charlie and Tim!!!

Vrip- Bring your truck, there will be LOTS of trail running afterwards! Perhaps someone can bring a 12V battery for some "recharge" action.

You'll Be Fine DON!

Getting pumped up for Sunday. Gonna make score cards and stuff today. I think I might have to get me a new truck for this...... My Box Of Parts simply won't turn into a truck by itself..... Darnit!

Should be a good event, I think there are a bunch more guys that haven't signed up online that are attending too! Remember, the Drivers Meeting isn't till 10! Don't be breaking your trucks getting warmed up early in the AM!
