801RCC 2011 Point Series Comp, Event #2 "Cupids Crawl"

The 801RCC 2011 Point Series is now under way and this year the competition should be tighter than ever. With Plenty of veteran drivers looking to be the top driver in the state but as last year proved their are plenty of newer drivers working their way through the ranks in hopes of crushing the veterans. This years point series could belong to anyone. But it's not going to be an easy fight. You'll need mad skills, great driving composure, and a fine tuned setup to snag the victory's this year. So put on your game face, tighten up those screws, and snag a fresh set of tires and come on out and show the state why you're number one.

Just over a week away till I put the beat down on everyone. I've been out to test my XR10 and made some tweaks to the setup over the weekend I'm feeling alot better about my setup than I was in our 1st comp of the series. Hopefully I'll be able to stop the Murfdog from taking another victory.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!

I was really nervous about the weather making this comp suck.
Boy did we luck out with the weather!!!

This comp was awesome!!!
I can't begin to tell you how great of a time we had!

Every single course was just bad ass!
They were all spot on, and had their technical and s
Difficult spots. Every gate made you work for it!
Even the 1.9 courses were just awesome!

I heard of a handful of people that were doing really well all day, but it seems like every driver had atleast one course that gave them a little trouble.
I can't wait To see the results

It's been a whilesince we've crawled out there, and I think we kinda forgot how great the traction is out there. Those courses would have been twice as hard at any other location.
I can't wait for warmer weather, and after this comp I just want to go back out there and run some ridiculous lines!!

Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting our little club.
Thanks to the small group of people that seem to judge comp after comp!
And thank you to mike for all the work you put into this club!
I luf you!!!

Wow, the weather was a threat all day but in the end we didn't get a single drop of rain or snow and the cloud cover kept it just warm enough to be comfortable in a hoodie most of the day.

This comp was spot on for 801RCC. The courses were extremely technical and had great mix of terrain. From long steep vertical climbs, tippy off camber sections, big drop offs, and a few boulder fields with holes that if you weren't careful would swallow a tire and spit parts at the driver. The steep sections had incredible grip that would take a rig almost 90* straight up!! While the flats were littered with loose gravel making negotiating the course very unpredictable.

801RCC drivers took on the day's challenges with great skills and composure. Some finished with amazing scores while others picked up the pieces and headed to their pit for needed repairs. Every driver I talked to had nothing but good comments and was excited about the runs they had or looking forward to the courses ahead of them.

2.2 run down.
Early on T-money set the bar with a good run on course 3 followed by flawless runs on course 1 and 2. He continued to run good on course 4 and 5 but had some penalties that kept the door open for some drivers to challenge for the top spot. Squish, making the trek fro Elly NV. with some friends, ran solid all day. He finished up in the early afternoon and was just behind T-money in points but there were still some great drivers that had still to finish. Near the end of the day the Tuna Club was making some serious noise. Course 1 had C@tfish, Boost, and Mac10 right on par for a top finish. C@tfish followed with a flawless on course 2 while Mac10 and Boost tried to brush off a couple penalties. Course 3 wasn't going to change things up much, the Tuna Club finished with comparable runs to the other top drivers. Course 4 had Mac10 and C@tfish once again right on par with the other top drivers, while Boost made up some points from his mistakes on course 2. The Tuna Club took focus and ran dang near flawless on course 5. It was going to come down to the wire!! The top 5 drivers all were within a few points of each other. In the end C@tfish squeezed between T-money and Squish but a few penalties on courses 3 and 4 would keep him just off the podium. T-moneys earlier flawless runs would prove to be enough to snag top 3 but a couple mistakes on the later courses had him tied with Mac10. All the tuning over the last few weeks paid off and a flawless run on course 5 would give Mac10 the bump up and lock him in 2nd. Boost brushed off a few penalties early on, but buckled down, focused, and was able to pick up the #1 spot by just one point over Mac10 and T-money.

The close finishes at this comp really do prove how close this years point series will be. It's still anyone's game!!!

1.9 run down
The 1.9 courses would be no different and had challenges all their own. It was anyone's game early on and people were stomping one course but getting crushed on the next. Tuner set the bar early with 3 solid finishes but T-money came through shortly after and dominated all 3 courses!! If you wanted a shot at taking 1.9's nothing short of flawless would cut it!! Right behind T-Money, J-rad made good work of course 2 and 3 and had a one point lead. A rollover and a gate on course 1 would be his down fall as he would fall 13 points behind T-money. Late in the day MurfDog was fired up and looking to make up for a few mistakes he'd made in 2.2's. He zoned in and tightened up his driving on 1.9's. He kept his head on and made good on his runs. But as stated, only a near flawless day would be enough to take it. MurfDog had a few penalties on course 3 and that would prove to be enough for T-Money to lock in the win. While MurfDog would take 2nd and bump J-rad to 3rd.

Once again the 1.9's would prove that these little rigs can be amazing on the rocks and in competition. With over 20 consistent 1.9 drivers, 801RCC has some, if not the best 1.9 drivers in the world. Ask anyone that drives these little guys and they'll tell ya "your missing out" if your not running one.

Once again I really want to thank everyone that helps make this 801RCC great!! From Judging, picking up garbage, course setup, helping with the website, donating, and for coming out to enjoy some great times and friendly competition. It's all of you that make it possible. It's all of you that make 801RCC "the best around"

Thank you all
