Question before I start planning my build, is either the second or third of these examples considered "Pinching"?

- Pinching the front (2/3 the width of the widest part of the cab)

I know the first obviously is. But what about the second and the third (They both have full size grills that are not pinched. They are just only de-fendered)

I agree Turtle, the Red Rocks appear pretty scale to the pic you posted.

Personally I don't see the Red Rocks being an issue, to me they just look like an aggressively trimmed TSL.

As for the Pit Bulls, in my honest opinion the Rock Beast resembles more closely their ATV tire and not the 1:1 Rocker tires. They share the same open lug pattern and the spacing is a closer resemblance to the ATV tire, even their shape and width screams ATV tire to me.

Thanks to everyone involved for getting this done and dealing with all of our questions, concerns and even rants!

Nothing.

I don't think any tire out there is perfect scale. Some more than other.

Pinching would be actual cutting and narrowing of the hood. In the two Jeeps you posted, just the fenders/flares have been removed. Jeep hoods just naturally narrow towards the front. There's a reason they're popular in the 1:1 world. My two cents on the matter.

Pinch, you should know what a pinch is, it's your name afterall ,Unless the namesake comes from pinching something else off

Not a pinched front, just fenders removed. Is my opinion.Do it to the bug your building

You listed this as the tire limit rule for Street Class (Class 1). Is the Flash Point legal? It is listed as a 106mm on the tire and the site, but the site lists it also as a 4.2" tire. I would prefer to run this tire in this class if it is legal.

Thanks.
LM

I'd go by what is printed on the tire first and if nothing is on the tire then the manufactures site. IMO

BTW 106mm is 4.17" isn't it?

Odd. The flashpoints are listed as 4.2" on RC4WD's site, but as PinchFlat pointed out, 106mm (also listed on their site) is 4.17". Guess they forgot to measure the lugs when doing their metric measurement !

I'll bring this up with the committee.

Legal in Class 1. RC4WD has corrected their website listing dimensions. Thanks for pointing that out.
