| PARC Boulder Battle #1 Competition, Results and Pics
PARC Phoenix Arizona Rock Crawlers Boulder Battle #1 Remote Control Rock Crawling Competition November 20th, 2004 I had a great time at the comp. I was happy with the turnout, better than expected. The carnage at the end was more fun then the comp itself. It was reminiscent of footage I’ve seen of toyo’s comps. Carnage Results: 1rst Place: SR5Dave 2nd Place: Minitrucker 3rd Place: Fireman 4th Place: Lunatic/Kevinlongisland Dave broke a ton of stuff! C-hubs, axle carriers, the list goes on! Minitrucker broke both servos on one good fall. He also pulled out a rod end. Fireman broke the center out of the rim. Lunatic and I suffered no damage. The Competition: We ran three stages, using the rules Jason posted for the end of summer run. Each stage had approximately 5 gates. Some stages contained an alternate route that was more difficult. These more difficult gates had bonus points associated with them. Stage 1: 9 Kevinlongisland 30 Fireman 41 SR5Dave 22 Lunatic 57 Minitrucker Stage 2: 13 Kevinlongisland 35 Fireman 55 SR5Dave 44 Lunatic 63 Minitrucker Stage 3: -8 Kevinlongisland 37 Fireman 48 SR5Dave 70 Lunatic 20 Minitrucker Totals: 14 Kevinlongisland/LS (Light Stick) 102 Fireman/Tubicon 136 Lunatic/Mach1 140 Minitrucker/Modified TXT-1 144 SR5Dave/Rock Hammer (didn’t know the name of your truck Dave) photos: CARNAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome time About 5 miles out from flag it started dumping down snow so hard I was idling home behind a semi Made it back around 12 8O I'd also like to tell everyone that K-Rocks SUCK, and I fully blame my pathetic placing on them As for my full carnage list: 4 servo arms (BlueBird servo's rock!) Two knuckles Axle Tube Gear Case (big crack) And Kev's last picture is Fireman hauling my rig back down the mountain "Nobody walks home!" |

| Re: PARC Boulder Battle #1 Competition, Results and Pics http://www.balsapr.com/catalog/Servo...ductId=U569935 I got their strong servo arms too, (I only ran one of them today) and I had been running it for a while, until today when I stripped out the splines. They are stronger, but not strong enough. I'm thinking aluminum arms next time.. EDIT: Als on my carnage list, I killed a lathe motor, one of the wires broke off in the armature, and my brushes are 85% gone. |

Yep, we left around 7:30. The truck is super slow going up hill, so that held us off... About 15 miles from flag we hit snow and had to slow down, about 5 miles out we were idling home because it was a freakin blizzard! I couldn't see at all. Just had to tailgate the semi. I got to have some fun drifting at Wendy's later though |

hey griz, you got an afro now too, huh? congrats. i like the rules because they are simple, but found some fundamental flaws in them that we will be changing. if you roll over, and then manually roll the truck back over rotating about two side wheels, the truck will be pointing in the opposite direction. that's no good. allot of time we had people rollover and roll down the hill and past gates they had cleared, sometimes past multiple gates. they then had to re-do those gates and continued to receive penalties. don't like this. so for rollovers we will allow re-position to the original location. i love a high point system, because that allows you to give a minor point for things like reverse. we learned allot from this event and things will go smoother next time. |

I've been hearing that people really don't like the krocks all that well. I thought with the right cut and using them in warm weather they worked well. Probably my second or third favorite tire. The key with a silicon rubber (aka dog toy rubber) material is the temperature. The juggy's and pro-lines run well in the cold, but the others (i.e. IMEX and HPI) need that warmer temperatures. |

What do sex and crawler tires have in common? They both need a good rubber. |

Kev, I'll just go with the name you gave it, it seems very appropriate... Rearranging some obstacles and shearing a huge face off that one rock probably earns it the name |

yeh, rock hammer just seems so appropriate for your rig! It’s the only crawler I’ve ever seen that has chipped away rock.
