The 2011 King of Belle's

The open event in February will be the 2011 King of Belle's event. This is roughly based on the famous King of the Hammer's event held for the 1:1 at the Hammers on the West Coast. This will be basically a timed endurance run.

Since we follow rules and class restrictions during our normal competition season, I have decided to make this event a wide open event with limited rules in an attempt to change things up. We'll see how this goes. If you have any questions or concerns, please bring it up to may attention. As for this, the rules are an evolving item so they may change up to the event start.

Event info:

• Sunday, February 27, 2011

• Course setup: 7:30 AM
• Registration: 8:30 AM
• Driver's meeting: 9:15 AM
• Event start: 9:30 AM

Format:

• This is a timed event where the driver determines the quickest way from the starting line to the finishing line via checkpoints. This may be either a loop or straight course(s) with possible multiple runs or laps on the course, it depends on the conditions at Belle's.
• If you cannot progress thru a gate at the checkpoint, you will be given a Did Not Finish (DNF).
• There may be water crossing so be prepared for this.
• There will be "checkpoints" that will need to be cleared before proceeding to the next checkpoint. At these checkpoints, there will be multiple gates that will need to be cleared.
• 1 minute staggered starts (1 judge will be accompany the driver thru out the event).
• Once the driver has completed the course, the driver becomes the judge and the judge becomes the driver. Any challenges will be decided by the event coordinator - basically me.
• Since more than 1 rig will be on the course, passing is allowed anywhere on the course including the checkpoints.
• Additional time will be added to the finish time based on penalty points earned. (1 point penalty = 3 second added to finish time).
• Time will be subtracted for finishing with bonus points earned. (1 bonus point = 3 seconds subtracted from finish time).
• Classes: No classes. This is a race what you brought event including scalers, comp rigs, supers, TTC and KOH rigs, etc.
• Course(s): Everyone runs the same course.

Rules:

• No reverse penalty.
• No winching penalty.
• No boundary penalty.
• No bonus(es) for scale items.
• No reposition is allowed.
• Rollovers are allowed with a -5 point penalty.
• Touch penalty is active with a -10 point penalty.
• Gate penalty is active with a -10 point penalty.
• Course direction penalty is active with a -10 point penalty.
• Gate progression is a +2 point bonus.
• Repairs: on-couse repair only with a 15-minute time limit. If the repair is not completed before the 15-minute penalty, a Did Not Finish (DNF) will be given. The timer does not stop during the repair. -10 point penalty given.
• Battery changes allowed are with no touch penalty. The timer does not stop. However, if any other changes made during the battery change, a -10 point touch penalty will be given.
• Note: On the penalty rules and gate progression will follow the 2011 USRCCA rule descriptions.

Course(s):

• Gates: Minimum 16" wide.
• No boundaries.
• Minimum of 3 gates at each checkpoint.
• No prerunning.
• Water crossing may be present.
• No bonus gates
• Alternative gates may be present at the checkpoint designer's discretion.
• Expect each run to last atleast 15 minutes.

Rig:

• Vehicle required to have 4 or more wheels to provided propulsion.
• Vehicle required to have a body or be of a bodiless configuration.
• Waterproofing at owner's discretion.
