tapout, you are ambitious! getting a full truck ready in just over a week! good luck. i'm willing to give a hand in any way i can. i have some magnetic mayhems i can loan out. there is no way you will be able to get a tube frame done like roktoys by the competition. you can use one of my old chassis that are laying around. but you have allllllllot of work ahead. good luck.

i will give you a hand in any way to help get your rig up and running. maybe we can get together one night and work on the trucks. i always hot glue the diffs. i've seen jb weld fail. and i have a diff right now i have to redo that someone used epoxy on. but my hot glued diffs have been holding up for just about one year now. so what chasssis did you get? i can lend you some giant trac tires and rims for the competition, so don't worry about tires/rims. do you have a 4-wheel steering setup? if not, the best one is the MTPA setup at www.rcrockgear.com because it keeps the angle of the link parallel with the drag link. don't need the last two items for spares, they never break: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXGB73&P=Z http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXGB35&P=Z but the rest of the stuff is good to have as spares as well as an extra gear set. |

Never say never But no, you won't need those... Nobody minus me and one aussie guy have broken one. In any case, I will likely have one on me. |

Dave, only you break stuff like that! I will have an entire extra axle on hand at the comp if anyone needs the parts off it or the entire axle changed out. |

I think I've already told you, but I'll be there as well. Just got my hobbico servos and gd600 in the mail the other day. Those servos are frickin' huge! I had no idea. I knew that they'd be bigger than stock traxxas trash, but didn't think they'd be that big. Major setback. I've already built so many cusom parts for my emaxx, that I decided to just buy the extra couple of parts and build a whole other rig (tuber, of course). I'll be in the shop on my day off monday to try and finish making a few parts, and the rest of the week tig-ing up my chassis. Hopefully, I'll have it done in time. Either way, I'll be there, rig or not. Also, if you think any of these parts I make are worth a crap , I'll make some extras and you can put 'em on your site. Anyways, see 'ya Sunday. WR Morrison |

not sure about bad weather. we haven't encountered that problem yet. usually it never rains all day (except for the last two days surprisingly). We'll have to see what the weather looks like as it gets closer to the comp. if it's raining and we can't get out, then it will be the weekend after.

1/2"? wow! those are huge! I'm trying to fab up the tube frame as I type this. Well, not actually as I type this, I'm on break. You mentioned behind the axle steering and EVX, is it an e-maxx-based rig? If so, I'd be interested in seeing how you mounted the servos and the linkages.

By the way, since the links are 1/2", I've got an idea for 'ya. (strictly bootyfab though) I'm not sure what they're called, but how about those rubber insulated clips that they use to secure wiring harnesses to a vehicle's fender or firewall? You know what I mean? Kind of like metal strapping w/rubber lining the inside of it. Plus, it's already got the hole drilled in the top for the shock bolt. I would think that it should tighten down enough that the rubber would hold it in place and keep it from sliding. Just an idea.
