This is a landmark event for us, the first Scale Challenge we have ever hosted. The event will be held at a nearby outdoor location, R/C Crawler Heaven on Earth...Pioneer Park.

WHEN: Sunday March 4, 2012
TECH INSPECTION/CHECK IN: Starts at 9:00am at the store,
Get A Hobby,
343 Railroad Ave
Nevada City, CA 95959
Please do not go directly to the park without coming to Get A Hobby. This is where you will receive your score card, registration packet, and directions to what area of the park you will be meeting at. If you're running late, please call the store directly at (530)478-1034.
DRIVER'S MEETING: 10:00am at Pioneer Park, Comp begins promptly after.
FEES: $10 This will include lunch for each registered driver. Food/drinks will be available to spectators for a very reasonable price.
PARKING IS FREE!

Partner Up for the Pioneer Scale Run!
There will be both 1.9 and 2.2 Scale Classes. Please sign up below together (as a two person team), or as a Solo Driver and you will be paired with somebody the morning of the event. If you get to the event and see somebody you know & want to partner up, let us know so we can make it happen!

Directions To Get A Hobby from the Roseville Area:
1.Take I-80 East Toward Reno NV
2.Take exit #119B/CA-49/Grass Valley/Placerville
3.Turn left onto CA-49 22.5 mi
4.Continue on CA-49 toward Nevada City 5.Take exit #185B/Nevada City/Sacramento St
6.Make an immediate hard Right when exiting CA-49 onto Railroad Ave.
7.Get A Hobby is the 3rd Driveway on the left.

Directions to Get A Hobby from the Truckee Area
1.Take I-80 W toward Sacramento
2.Take exit #161/CA-20 W/Nevada City/Grass Valley.
3.Bear right onto CA-20.
4.Take exit #186/Nevada City/Coyote St.
5.Turn left onto Coyote St
6.Continue straight down coyote, straight thru both stop signs.
7.Turn left onto Broad St
8.Turn right onto Sacramento St
9.Turn left onto Railroad Ave, immediately after the Chevron Gas Station.
10.Get A Hobby is the 3rd Driveway on the left.

Is there anything we should expect on this challange? Rules? Requirements? Looking forward to this event.

After emailing with Matt from Overland Team Challenge, we have decided to use the same rule format they use.
We will be adding a new rule/bonus feature (we do not believe has been done before), TRAIL KARMA.
When you stop to help somebody (winching, towing, etc.) who is not on your team, you will be awarded a 1 minute deduction off your total time. This will be an unlimited bonus feature that you are able to "cash in" on during the entire course of your total run. A judge must be present to witness the Trail Karma in action, and must sign off/add it to your scorecard when it happens.
There will be a brief Driver's Meeting the morning of the event and we will go over this in detail & any other adjustments that might come up.

This type of event sounds like fun. Hope I get to drive one of them :ror: Starting a new job at 2 am and a better then 50% chance it sounds like weekends off :roll:

GetAHobby, this idea has been part of the 801RCC Ultra 4 format. I have bounced around the idea, but honestly, helping another driver/team out on a stage should be sincere and should be part of every drivers character.

Rewarding everytime you assist some one may get conveluted and like nissan remarks, your going to help everyone you see and what is help? A team points out a "line" that helps another team traverse an obstacle? I can't wait for the details in drivers meeting.

We are ready to have FUN and I can't wait to drive Lil' Lexus and Poochie!
