I haven't heard from either of my sources yet wether or not the water is down at the comp area. Has anyone had a chance to check it out? We will have a backup location closer to Cleveland if the water is up around comp time, but we definitely want to TRY to have it at Hurricane. |

On the rules, everyone might want to check them periodically, because Fish has been making adjustments to them almost daily as mistakes have been pointed out during the public review. So if you checked them the other day, there might be a few lines added/deleted, or reworded since you've seen them last.

I just saw your posts in the rules section on this matter. As for the local sportsman class, you're legal with your bodiless setup. I was a little confused on the 2.2s and Sportsman differences too.

Yeah it just seems to me they took a class that could have been a national class and just threw it to the side and made a new class the excat same except you cant have a bodiless chassis which seems really stupid due to the fact most pro class rigs are bodiless and i would think if i was going to nationaly make a class i would want it as close to 2.2 pro as possible not make it more limited by taking away all the awesome bodiless chassis. When i go to the NMRA nationals i dont go to watch the modded stock cars race i go to see the outlaw cars race and the bounty cars race ppl dont sit in the stands to watch cars like mine race lol.

And many of the bodiless chassis have removable cabs... I don't want to come across like an a$$, but requiring a body really isn't a big deal.

One advantage to running a body is any support chassis is allowed. This means you're not restricted by minimum measurements. I have a buddy that built an moa Losi 2.2 rig with a 1.9 chassis that performed quite well. Because it was a bodied vehicle, it was legal.

Personally I really like the 2.2s class rules. I think the class is exactly what it should be, and what I feel sportsman should have been. A good place for people to get into competition crawling, and those of us that just want a simpler class to run in.

| Ditto!!! Very well put. That is the intention of the new rule. Entry level, easier to get into compared to 2.2 Pro.

Ok i agree the rules all but one are great because there the same as sportsman but what does having a body and having a bodiless have to do with anything. Same class all but you cant have a bodiless chassis granted 1 screw and a hacked up bug body and bam legal but still its the same class minus bodiless chassis. i choise a bodiless because it looks more like a pro chassis only reason i hate the lexon crap tastic noisy bodies they look like crap and i despise them with a passion there great for tooling around the yard bashing and crap but i want a nice bodiless that looks good. Same in drag racing i dont go to see every car that look like it just rolled off the production line i want to see the modded out pro and bounty cars the ones that look nice. So why put in it has to have a body when there is no real benifit other than the looks to me. I just hate bodies there tacky imo. Biggest question are we going to drop the sportsman and just run the 2.2s or keep sportsman or what ?

I personally like running the body on my sportsman rig. A bug body slammed down with some rovers all the way around. Boooommm !! You got a kick a#@ class. Cant wait to run it at this comp and for sure at ECC.

I actually like bodies, all the bodiless rigs look the same, at least the body gives some variety. Personally, I don't care what we decide as a club, my shafty will have a body. |
