| the Next Nor-Cal Comp
Hey all Badger and I have been talking about doing another comp. The spot has been picked out but will not be revealed till the night before the event. There will be some new rules which I'll add to this thread when they are finished. Nothing drastic just some detail changes. I"m trying to make this comp more like a real 1:1 comp. There hasn't been a date set so don't ask. Anyway who's up for something a little different?

Very cool. Depending on the date, I may be able to compete. Doubt it, but it is worth a shot. Either way, I will up the anti for the Nor-Cal comp event. I will donate some videos to the prize pack for the event from my CrawlerStore. Winners select their video of choice. If you are into 1:1 rock crawling videos, then I may have something cool for you. -Sam |

Hahaha... I am good at spanking, but it's not at R/C crawling that's for sure. SR5Dave can attest to that when I broke his locked diff and rolled twice in the span of a couple of minutes. I will try and get it done, but my new kitchen has been taking most of my off-work time. I would have never started this remodel if I knew it was going to be so involved. It's coming out nice, but man.... so many things to do to make a kitchen. As for the event, keep me close to the loop. I don't foresee finishing in time, so I should be able to be a judge along with my friend Pete. -Sam |

I plan a week or two in advance so I will not be a guarantee show, i.e., if the announcement is on Friday night for Saturday I may not make it.

I know this is an old topic but lets' get the ball rolling. Hows the 19th of march for everyone? It's the saturday a week before easter. As far as changes to rules, No kongs, a WB limit, I'm also not a fan of wheel weights. I really want this to be a comp for two things. Design and driving skill. I think the rigs should all be inspected before hand. They do it in 1:1 all the rules will be spelled out so we don't have a misunderstandings. Oh and no course prerunning! |

why cant we run kong . In 1:1 comp they dont have a rule about not running any certain tire. also what the longest wheelbase can you run

Rules for "Team Trials" 1) Each team will consist of 2 vehicles and 2 drivers. 2) The team will run the course together, trying for the quickest and cleanest run. The team to finish the course in the quickest time and with the fewest roll-overs will win. Both trucks must cross the finish line. Roll-overs are a heavier penalty than time- IE the team with fewer roll-overs and a longer time will beat a team with more roll-overs and a shorter time. 3) All vehicles MUST RUN : -TLT, Robbe Panther, Bruiser or PTI axles. (You may widen the axle, but it must look realistic under your body) NO clod or other full-size axles. -Tamiya Pajero's, Humvee's and S10/Ford/Toyota Stadium trucks are OK, but you'll get whooped. Wink -2.2" Tires. (The tallest tire allowed is the Proline Masher 2000. Anything smaller is fine) -No gear reductions allowed. -2 wheel steering ONLY! And the trucks MUST look realistic. (You know what I mean!) There is no limit on chassis or transmission or anything else. 4) The operator of the truck may not touch the vehicle in the event of a roll-over or 'stuck' situation. The vehicle must be rescued via winch or tow strap or by the other truck in the team with similar recovery gear. 5) Ramps, Sand Ladders, Tow straps and other aids may be carried and placed by the operator, just like full-scale wheeling. Said ramps MUST be carried on the vehicle! Additional ideas: -"Tree straps" (A length of string to wrap around an object in case your winch isnt long enough). - Have hooks on your chassis to attach the tow straps to. - Lights look cool and add realism. Oh and Rich, I think Kongs are an unfair advantage. And since you think you're better than everyone anyway what are you worried about? | |
