Default ETRC LB COMP August

ETRC Laid Back Comp (and possible scale event)

We are going to give this spot a shot. The Hiwassee River Appalachia Power House.

Date: August 24th (Saturday)

Meeting at 8:00 at the rocks to build courses. We start when we get done building. Anyone going on the gravel road can meet me at Webb Store at 7:30 to follow.
We would still run any class we have enough drivers for, but at the very least 2.2 Shaft and Pro. I am also going to attempt a creative and fun event for the scalers.

So if you are interested... please post in this thread.

It used to be drive across but I think they put a gate up and you can no longer drive across it ...

So I guess you have to come in on the power house side to get to the rocks anyways...

Get to it from either side. Paved side has limited parking 10 cars maybe...and you walk across the bridge. Dirt side, you park right on the rocks. You can park 20 on the dirt side, but you need a truck (not a 4x4) or a Subaru

I wouldn't attempt to drive to the rocks side of the river without a chainsaw and a willingness to move a few trees. I don't know if the road is maintained very often. We have had alot of storms lately and unless they are working on the powerhouse the road isn't used often.

Well the other way takes 2.5 hrs and the dirt road says 1.2 hrs from my house lol, might just have to brave the chainsaw, plus depending on the date I might not make it anyways...

Well duh! I was planning on it just waiting on time on the lift to replace the rear main seal and do the knuckle rebuild too. (Building a "new" 94 Samurai, one part at a time!)

Date set. Going to do this August 24th.

Sorry about waiting so long to post that but with School starting back up this week, so does soccer and scouts and blah blah blah ... I'm sure you guys with kids know all about that.

Anyway, I was going to try to move it up but it would have been impossible for me to get it done any Saturday sooner.

I hope everyone can make it.
