801rcc 2014 Ultra4 R/C, Race #1 "Rock Rail Express"

Old man Winter has settled in and brought mother nature with him! 801rcc is no stranger to winter weather, and has proven that snowy and wet conditions are no threat to the Ultra4 crowd. This race will be the first race of 801rcc's Ultra4 Point Series. Black Rock has been known for carnage and chaos and should make a great venue to break in the series. Drivers will have to tune for the perfect balance. Speed, crawling, nerves, and luck, are just some of the recipe it takes to take home a win in Ultra4 racing. So come on out see if you have the right combination for victory

"Black Rock"

• NAME: Black Rock
  LOCATION: Just west of the SL marina
  TERRAIN: Small to large jagged boulders, sand
  TRACTION: very low to extremely high

Directions:
Black Rock is just west of the marina @ the great salt lake. Take the Saltair exit head west on the frontage road north of the freeway. Follow it a few miles take the dirt road on the left and you cant miss.

**Up For Grabs**

• Ultra Dog Tags: Finish with fasted over all time in either 2.2 or 1.9 Ultra class. Fly when you can but watch the penalties
  Trail Dog Tags: Out for a trail run, notice your surroundings
  Theme Dog Tag: Driver with the best item or vehicle based on the theme of the race. Creativity might be best

**Mandatory all classes**

• All vehicles must have a recovery strap or winch.
  ALL Vehicles must have 5 scale items, EXCLUDING mandatory strap/winch

**Not required but highly recommended**

• A few $$ Bucks $$ for the donation box
  Prepping for winter conditions

Trail Class Notes:

• Trail drivers are scored on penalties not time.
  Time will only be used in the event of a tie.
  Trail drivers will not score bonuses for assists
  Trail drivers will have hidden bonuses (that may or may not be disclosed during the drivers meeting)

Ultra Class Notes:

• Ultra drivers are scored on penalties and time.
  Ultra drivers must have a timer (stopwatch, cell phone, etc)
  Ultra Drivers will scores bonuses for assisting other drivers (Must use tow strap or other items carried by the vehicle)
  Ultra drivers should have a score counter (a decent golf counter works well)

**Theme**

• Theme for this event: Zombie
  All Drivers must post a pic of their rig in this thread before the day of the event
  ALL Vehicles must compete in the event with any and all items
  Voting will take place during the drivers meeting

BE PREPARED TO SWITCH BATTERY PACKS!!!!

• ULTRA DRIVERS 600 GATES
  TRAIL DRIVERS 200 GATES

In true 801RCC fashion this will be a FREE event and is open to anyone running a Ultra4 legal rig.

Got the new rig out on the rocks for a couple shake down runs. I have a few tweaks to make before race day but over all the rig feels pretty good.

Snow, rain, wind, or sun it doesn't really matter. Weather is just part of the Ultra4 challenge
