New ETRC Comp 2016

To all past, present, and hopefully future ETRC members and comp participants. Starting the new season has been slow to come about. The new season is upon us now though, and with it comes a few changes. RCCA has created some new rules for 2016 that appear to address some past issues and stand to make some positive changes. Please go top the RCCA section and look at the new 2016 rule changes. There are not many, and they simplify allot of things. Especially pay attention to the group judging rules. It really simplifies judging. (BTW... The RCCA section is in the RCORVA section I think)

Now about our comps.

It takes a lot of work to put on every comp we have. Starting this season, I will be hosting ETRC comps, which will contain 2.2 mod and 2.2 s classes. There will be supplies and score sheets for trail or even various scale classes available. At the time and in the thread where I post the comp for each month, if there is a person that will claim responsibility for the trail or scale class, then we will have that class at that comp as well. That person would make sure the courses are set and the scores are delivered to me.

It is fine if this person is different at each comp. If no one takes the role, we won't run the class at that comp.

If we have fewer than 4 drivers sign up for any class, that class will not run.

Now before I post the info for Comp #1, I'd like replies from people who plan to attend comps this season and what classes you are interested in running. Please post in this thread.

Hey Harvo, glad to see things kicking off again. I will be at any comps that are on my off work weekends. I'm in for 2.2s, trail and or scale class 1 and 2. I dont know how well i could set up courses but i will help out all i can.

The enthusiasm to help sounds good, but what will be needed is for some one to do.

I'm personally not into scale events. I dabbled in trail class last season but it's not really my thing. I have no idea how the scale class system works or how to judge it either. Like I mentioned originally... it can be ETRC sanctioned, promoted in our comp thread, and results posted with RCORVA, but it would need to be operated and managed by scale guys. ETRC provides the supplies. You provide the scale/trail management and manpower. (keep in mind the group judging aspect now, which should help make things easier). It doesn't even have to be the same person responsible every time.

So if one or a few of you would PM me and be willing to run the scale side of things at a comp or two each, we can get it done. Operating this way, I think each side of the hobby will get the attention it needs at every comp and provide a fun, relaxing experience for everyone (including me finally )

Also... whoever takes on the role for Scale at any comp will be part of setting the date for that comp (it kind of makes sense to do it that way eh?)

So specifically... if you want to be the scale guy for comp 1, let me know soon. Of course you will not be left alone with this. I will help with logistics, and as you see in the posts above... there are lots of scale guys willing to help.

Since we are so few right now and so spread out, I'm considering having one comp at Carters Dam to make it easier on the Southern folks. Some around Chattanooga and Knoxville as usual.
