| Course configuration question. Is the course set up the same for 2.2 class, and Class 1? I have a SW2 TLT base truck that has a 14” WB and rear steer. I would like to try competing with my set up. Would I be at a disadvantage in Class 1? Is Class 1 set up for the larger trucks? |

With 4WS and a 14 inch wheel base, you would have to compete w/ the Supers. In order to compete in 2.2 you wou'd need to lock out the rear steer, and shorten your wheel base to 12 1/2 inches. |

Here in Colorado we run basicly the same courses for both classes. We usually have a couple harder obstacles that we get rid of for the 2.2 rigs. I run a 2.2 Clod with 14.75" wheelbase and 2.2 Imex Red Rock tires in the Super Class (class 1) and it does great. Sometimes I have to get creative with lines because my wheelbase is too short to get up really large vertical ledges, but you'd be suprised at how often the narrower width and lower CG actually help. I have even had low score on some courses. I built this truck just because I wanted to have fun and drive something that I think looks cool. http://www.rccrawlermedia.com/rcc-gallery/album46 I'd say just get out there and try it with what you have and have fun with it.
