I fully agree with Digler. There was nothing there that seemed like it could handle hardcore crawling duties other than WR450F's Clod. Too much glitter as it seems from the images Hua posted on Clodtalk. But.. I guess that's what people like..... except those of us who know what hardcore crawlin'/wheelin' is all about. Damn.. at ORCRC's Comp on Sunday I drove 60% of the second course with my right rear wheel/knuckle falling off, just dragging it along side me. I kept on going, had to try to finish within the time limit. If any of the rigs at this SoCal event would have had a wheel fall off they would have stopped to take care of the chrome getting scrapped on the little rocks |

Digler us cali guys are sorry that were not representing you Colorado guys like youd like but... you dont need a HARDCORE rig to be a good driver. and just because you have a HARDCORE rig doesnt mean your a good driver! i think your rigs pretty cool but look at your placing in YOUR last comp. BTW that "LAME" article in RCCA got me started in RC crawling. i was into Tmaxxs before so that was a big change and im happy i made it. lol pile driver Thanks toyo?? |
Sounds like we've stoped talking about trucks and moved on to eachothers personal lives eh? Sorry I had to
Well I wasn't the one who started the personal attacks but I can hang. Besides, I'm not all pissy like it seems Dirk is. The point I was trying to make is, exposure is good. And at least one person above agrees. And calling us a bunch of lames is pretty weak. The courses were alot harder than the pictures show. There were several flops and ALOT of missed cones. So that in itself should say something about the course difficulty. Saying things like "the only capable rig was WRF450's" WRF450's rig is indeed capable. It's a gecko. So is the black jeep. Someone please enlighten me how one gecko is hardcore and the one sitting next to it is not. This is what I'm talking about. BTW the Black jeep took 2nd overall. Behind a modded ripper. Hua likes to take pics of show trucks posing. That's his gig. As far as I could tell he and one of his buds were the only ones really taking pics. The rest of us were busy crawlin. And, as all of you know the magazines show what THEY want, not always what we want to see. ORCRC has some good comps. You guys have it down. I've read all the threads. And believe it or not us CA guys do too. Lastly, I came across this: http://rccrawler.com/postt60.html Not exactly what I would consider "hardcore" or organized. But hey I guess Dirk thought so since he posted it. |

atleast you guys got something to complain about. up here in Minnesota there is crap for crawling comps. let alone any get togethers, all anyone does here is race buggies and trucks. |

No no no. Don't get me wrong.....California still sucks!!!!! Just to set the record straight, I was never flaming an individual, including you, just the trucks that were at last years event. It looked very weak. People rip on my trucks all the time, which is cool by me. As for driving, I pretty much suck most of the time and have never bragged about my skills in the rc crawling world but I think my rigs are pretty hard core. This forum is the best out there, without a question. Not all of my get togethers are extreme. Some are just a get together to say hello and share building info with mild wheeling. |

Dirk I'll have to second you on the forum issue. I like to browse the other forums for a mixture of advice but I do frequent this one most often. I just tried to get an account on the Monster Truck forum that has the images of the Cali comp and I was given a nice email that said "Access Denied" HEHE WTF is up with that? There loss I guess, I sure as hell won't be activly promoting there site. As far as the trash talk is concerned, I've driven with the guys from Colorado and they kick ass. Don't be so quick to bash there driving or machines until you see what they can do with them. They'll shock the hell out of you. Dirks position in the competition was due to the fact that his rear steering went out the day before. And with that kind of rig you can't drive it well without it. You want to put you skills on the line and see what we are all about, bring it on in Moab for our national event. We should have guys from the Colorado and Arizona chapters. Utah will be there as well. It will be nice to see what your guys from Cali can/can't do. Maybe we can get the coverage that this sport deserves at its most extreme. Later |

Well I think we should start a thread on the Moab competition. Get everyones imput. I think it should be a collaborative effort. I would like to make it to where all the crawlers around had a say in what they would like to see happen. DirkDiggler - What do you think? |

Sounds like a plan to me! Moab is the perfect meeting place as well. If it's good enough for the Jeep Safari, it's good enough for rc crawlin! Maybe we should even give the event a similar name like: RC Safari Biggest thing we need to start working on is a set of rules. |
