Default NorCal Comp April 2nd

We will be hosting a comp on march 26th or the 27th @ seascape

This comp will be unlimited class so bring all you got. We will be crawling on a new course that was just set up. We will have a new scoring system that will take care of many problems we had with the old rules. And we should have tons of fun out on the rocks.

thanks,
Brian

Brian,

I think we should use one ruleset for all Nor-Cal comps.

I like this rule set from the rcc rules thread. What do you think?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Reverse = 1 point (any reverse at all, not 1 wheelbase length)

2. Stop for more than 4 seconds= 1 point

3. Cone = 10 points

4. Rollover replacement = 10 points. If you rolled and could drive out of it, no penalty. If you had to flip it back over manually, 10 points. You also have the option on any rollover you can drive out of to re-position where the rollover occurred. This will incur a 10 point penalty.

5. Reposition = 15 or 20 points?. Vehicle can be repositioned any distance behind the last point of forward progress. No forward progress allowed when repositioning.

6. Boundary Marker offense = 10 points. If any part of the vehicle touches a boundary marker.

7. Bonus Gates = 5-50 points. Bonus points will be awarded for successfully negotiating a bonus gate.

8. Max points per obstacle= 40
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I really think we should start using the same or very similar rules as other clubs are using, so when we do have a large comp like we are in May we are already used to the rules.

What do you Nor-Cal guys think?

The rules i came up with are very simple and will cause no question to a valid score. This way we can have a layed back comp but also have a clear picture of peoples scores.

I didnt know it was easter weekend and i know alot of people will be out of town. Would anyone have a problem if i moved it to the weekend after?

1. -5 Reverse (Past your wheel base NO BACK UP RULE FOR RIGS WITHOUT FWS)

2. -10 points: Hitting a cone

3. -10 points: Touching or moving your rig any time after you start your run this includes roll overs, repositions, and repairs

4. +50 points for each gate you complete.(bonus gates are worth +100)

4. Repairs are limited to 5min if your rig can not be repaired within the time limit you may run the course broken or take a DNF. (DNF=#5)

5. Course will be limited to X amount of minutes if you run out of time we will add up your current score and minus the gates you did not complete.

6. If it is not your turn you may not run the course you may run in other areas but only after checking with the competing driver that the radio is clear.

7. you must have fun if you are not having fun tell the offical but if you bug him he may kick you ass

We will be going back down to seascape soon to finish prepping the course. If you would like to have input in to its design that is the day to give it not the day of the comp. I will post the date shortly.

I don't want to start debating rules in this thread, read this comp rules thread if you want to talk about what rules you think nor-cal should use.

I see many problems with your rules Brian and personally do not want to compete with them, that is why I am suggesting we use a unified rule set.

If you guys want to run with Brian's rules for this comp, that is perfectly fine, but I will not attend.

I see no problem with these rules it will make things run more smoothly. If you dont want to come thats cool, Im not going to cry over your absence.

Why don't you read the rules thread I linked to and then read your rules and tell me again that you don't see a problem with it. I don't see how you improved your rules at all.

I'm not expecting you to cry over my absence, I just don't want to drive all that distance to have another cluster **** of a comp.

If you want to start segregating the Nor-Cal group with "your" comps and rules then that is fine with me. I'm sure they will be fun with 4 people showing up to your comps.
