I want to thank those for coming forward offeing assistance. This comp is back on but we still need a location. i will be scouting Red Rocks this afternoon after work. Everyone keep your eyes open on your daily drives and if you find a spot.. take a pic, post up the location in the Colorado Crawling Atlas.. we will be keeping an eye on that thread for locations. Are we limited to just over by the elementary or where else in the park can we go? I know that some of the property is off limits. If it comes down to it.. I know Palmer Park requires special permission to run a group of people out there... how do we get said permision? Here are all the locations from the Crawling atlas: Bear Creek Park - covered in snow Four Mile Historic Park - status needed Creighton Jr. High School in Lakewood - Status Needed Palmer Park - Open - requires permission to hold events - individuals can run freely Hells Ditch - Status Needed Coal Creek Canyon - Status Needed Buffalo Creek - Status Needed Flat Irons - Status Needed Horse Tooth - Status Needed Red Feather Lakes/Dowdy Lake - Status Needed Team Krakatoa testing complex - Status Needed Daken Road Rock Garden - Closed for Winter Last edited by TwistedXT; 01-03-2008 at 07:04 AM. |

the main issue was finding a non-snowed out location.. once we get that figured out, if you would like to help set up.. i will be on location (where ever that may be) @ 7am the day of.

Not sure if you made it to Red Rocks today on not, but there were a few of us up there New Years Day. There is some snow, but really there was more then enough places to set up courses.(I think never been there for a comp) With the temps that we've had for the last few days and with 50's tomorrow and Saturday, I think it would be in really good shape by Sunday. As far as the original location, or any other place else I'm not sure, but I may??? get off of work early tomorrow and could look and take some pics if needed.

If i remember right, someone stated that area 12 in Palmer Park had some good spots for scalers? Dont forget to be updating the Colorado Atlas with Possible locations to crawl... User friendly or not. Its just nice to have different areas around town to crawl and maybe even be close to everyones house at one time or another... One of the main things im trying to do with this series is change it up aliitle from the norm. different style courses and different locations then what we are used to. The destination will be decided by tonight to give people time to prepare on travel times and such. Im leavin Castle Rock @ 6am if anyone needs a lift. | |

So my wife and i spent some time wondering around town today takin pics and talking about the comps... Found some pretty sweet spots but some still covered in snow and currently un-doable.. So.. heres what im thinkin... We will start the Gated and Time trial down by the Elementary (South Entrance of Red Rocks) then break for lunch We will all meet back at the North end past the Ampitheater at the point of interest (enter through entrance 1 north side.. stay to the right and park at the small parking lot - it is just to the north of the North parking lots... i will post pics in the morning) there we will hold the hill climb event... we found a hill climb that reminded me of a smaller version of a run in moab.. The Esculator? i think.. anyways.. its friggin sweet!!! Sign in and scale tech/scoring will start at 8am and the comp starts at 9 (or when we are done teching/scoring trucks) |

I caution you, stay out of the actual park, you will be escorted out with a possible hefty fine.

Yup, that won't work! There's no way you're going to catch me in the park with a group of people. It will be a matter of minutes before the popo will be all over your azz. If you're doing it at RR it has to be on the school property. |

Note to all, I just called Mike and talked to him. The event is still on, and is set for the normal redrocks comp location. Here is a google map that shows the parking and comp area. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?f=s&i...9572&z=19&om=1 Sign up is from 8-9, tech 9-10. I have the pacer done and plan on handing out ass whoopins with it in the morning. |

easiest way to access the location.. from the intersection of 470 and Morrison RD, Head West on Morrison RD. follow it through the town of Morrison. Just after the last stop light in town the road will curve to the left, parking is just up on the right.. my Blue Z71 will be sitting there come about 7am. If you would like to help setting up the courses or just hangout... I will be there at 7am, any and all help is appreciated. Thanks guys And remember..... the Town of Morrison make alot of money off of people who speed... from just after the Gas station all the way to the comp site... it is 25 MILES PER HOUR!!!!!! EVEN AFTER THE LAST STOP LIGHT!!!! DO NOT SPEED!!! see evryone in the morning!!! |
