Hi guys! Mosquito Crawl 2 happened at Pachaug State Forest in Voluntown, CT. It took place on Sunday, August 1st. Myself, Trac95ker, KonaJoe, and Kona's nephew Craig attended the event. We got rained on for a while, but that only makes things slick and even more challenging. We had a good time BSing and swapping stories while we were seeking shelter from the rain. We crawled on 6 different courses that I can remember off the top of my head. We had some gates marked off with split tennis balls on the first 2 or maybe 3 courses, with maybe 5 gates on each course. The first course was do-able on the 1st or 2nd attempt. The 2nd course had some gates that seemed to be impossible! After the 2nd course we went back to the follow the leader type format that seems to work well for us. I have attached a link to a vid from the first course that we ran. This is KonaJoe's TXT. His nephew Craig (12 yrs old!!!) was driving. There was plenty of video footage and pics taken during the day, they will be following shortly. http://www.rcpics.net/img/35111

Also, How did you like the kongs? Were they too much for the TXT axles? Were they TOO TALL for the width of the axles?

KonaJoe, thanx for posting the pics! They all look great! For the guys who posted about the trails and trucks: We are eager to see more crawlers show up! Anybody who can make the drive is surely welcome to come along!!! Bark, you'd be surprised at how well the tires on my black TXT worked! I know that I was! I had a set of Imex Pullers that worked horribly in stock form. I wanted to try narrowed tires, so I cut them up with not much regard for anything. The truck steered 100% better than it did with cut Clod tires on narrowed wheels. The traction was not as good, but the added maneuverability allowed me to try whatever lines I wanted to. Also, my TXT crawled into places that Trac95ker's Kongs and KonaJoe's BFT tires would not get thru. Likewise, those guys got thru some obstacles that my truck couldn't. All of us at Mosquito Crawl have found that there is not 1 single perfect truck setup, nor a single perfect tire, or perfect anything for that matter. Our crawling grounds are full of varied terrain, and each truck/tire/setup shines in 1 or 2 specific areas that other trucks don't do as well in. Don't knock it untill you've tried it! And just for the record, I have 3 different tire combinations that I am working on. 1 set is cut Clods on narrowed wheels with a different offset, another is cut TerraCrusher tires on beadlocks. The 3rd set is cut and narrowed Imex Jumbo Swamp Dawgs on beadlocks. It is all in the interest of finding the best "all terrain" tire for the different stuff that us New Englanders see when crawling. Anyhow, thanx for the replies, to all who have posted! Vince

I was hoping to set up a web page to be able to post pics like Kona Joe did. That takes brains. I had a great time at Mosquito crawl 2. The wet conditions made crawlin ineresting. It was fun watching what everyones trucks could do. I learned alot about mine. The neat thing abot where we decided to crawl was that there were 6 different types of areas to crawl in. All within walking distance. Anywhere from hilly areas with a mix of rocks and dirt to pure rock (huge boulders) Can't wait for mosquito crawl 3. We"ll get to see Craigs tuber! Here are some more pics: http://www.rcpics.net/img/35240 http://www.rcpics.net/img/35241 http://www.rcpics.net/img/35242 http://www.rcpics.net/img/35243 http://www.rcpics.net/img/35244 http://www.rcpics.net/img/35245 http://www.rcpics.net/img/35246 Watch out fot the trail patrol! http://www.rcpics.net/img/35247
