Default CT Rock Crawlers GTG Sunday 7/16

noob superman gets credit for getting the scoop on this, but Wolcott Hobbies (near Waterbury, CT) is hosting an event this Sunday. It's a general bashing style thing, but they say they have a setup for crawlers. I've been to this track a bunch and have never noticed a crawler area, but they will be having free food. I might also bring some stuff to run on the track. Worst case: we eat, hang out a bit and then go to Lovers' Leap. My wife is out of town this weekend, so no matter what, I'm crawling somewhere.Anyone interested?

I'm fine with that as long as it's something we can actually crawl on.

Do you guys think you'll be able to hit Lovers' Leap if Wolcott doesn't have good terrain for crawlin'?

I don't think ill be able to make it. Going to my mother's in VT for the weekend. She lives right by a awesome river/stream that would make an awesome scale course. To bad none of ya will drive to VT!!

Uh, guys..... well, sorry 'bout this, but y'all will be wasting the drive time if you want to crawl at WolcottHobby. I live nearby there, and get almost all of my RC stuff there. I was just there on Saturday with both of my trucks. There is NOTHING to crawl on that is worth driving from anywhere. They did have a small (maybe 10feetX20feet) patch of rocks way out back at one time, but it's all been bulldozed into a ditch.

If ya really want to go there, bring something to bash on the track with. That's all that is there.

fullmodtxt,
That's what I suspected. I'll be at the track on Friday to do some testing; I'll confirm the lack of a crawling area.

Looks like a trip to Lovers' Leap will be in order. How's that dry river bed in Waterbury looking, fullmodtxt? If that isn't a go, any interest in joining us at Lovers' Leap?

Went back out to Wolcott on Thursday to beat on the brushless little truck. Nothing broke (!!!!!!!!) and I got some pics that show the extent of the terrain at WolcottHobby. Nothing special. There line of rocks that got pushed into the ditch is about the best it gets there, and I ran right thru it with my TXT in a matter of a few minutes. Pics are in the link below (webshots album):
