I'm not sure what to say. I watched an 8 pound bully today in my local comp running my foams and white rovers and it performed fine. In fact, at times I thought the foams should have been trimmed to soften them up. How old are your foams? What color is the glue joint on them? Yellow or white? Have you narrowed your foams at all? What type of terrain are you crawling? High Traction? How old are the rovers? Do they have the wear marks in the tire carcass from being wrinkled? I have my foams trimmed narrower on the inners with siped white rovers on a 6.5 pound berg and it's no problem. Give me some more info and I will give you some suggestions. -Eddie | ||

I ran them on my ~7lb berg with leopards. Narrowed both the rear and front inner foams for the leopards. "Wheelside" of front foam was channel cut for all the weight stacked in there. Worked great on all types of rocks. Then my berg went on a diet. now ~5.6lbs. Still on leopards Got a new set of lightweight wheels and 2nd set of Nova foams. Narrowed the inner foams but took off a little more for the lesser weight on both front an rear. Front tires have a channel cut on the inside for the delrin "spine" I made in house. like Mayhem's UCW's. Added 4oz of weight each. For total of 10oz each, wheel, tire, foam. Eddie said the fronts still needed a bit of softening from watching my rig. And I just added my ghetto "delrin spines", so he was right. Not that the foams needed extra support for the sidewalls, I just wanted to try out the delrin supports I made. So I cut two small 1/4" channels on the top outside of the inner front foams. Rear tires no weights, weigh 5.5oz total, wheel, tire foam. Did some testing last night and the fronts do wad up a little more! I said all that to say.. Doesn't really matter your rig weight or style these foams can easily be tuned for your truck. |
