By the way, I think the short straw or random choosing would be great! Could we get away with that?

It costs to get there and hotel and food and...
I'm in for any $$$ help I can get!

Still on the question..

How is the schedule going to be laid out?
Is it going to be 8 courses open for 8hrs?
Or are you guys going to rock it out, 4 courses in the morning hours and 4 courses in the afternoon hours?

(I much prefer half and half.. I would think, more ppl would step up for that too, IMO)

If i could,
I Come for comp and judge for free...
But the problem is that I'm in France......
In France and in Europe, for the moment we judge for free
But it's sure, it cost ā lot to go to the comp...

At this point, the pay out to judge would cover a lot of your trip!

Sorry, I missed this.

Theoretically it would take 300 min to run 50 courses with 50 people on a 6 min course. It would also take 50 people 300 min to run 1 course. So, same time to run everybody through 49 less courses. This means its wise to have as many courses open as possible for less waiting and more driving and getting everybody through as quickly as possible.

Man, I think this is the answer if this does not work out!

Guys, if I lived closer I would be all over this, I always jump in to help out. $1,000 per day is crazy, but pay an entry fee and I would think some of you guys would be knocking each other over to get in.

So here's my thinking for judges and schedule. With somewhere near 50 drivers if we split 4 am courses and 4 pm courses. If equally distributed theres at least 12 people in line always. If courses are designed efficiently and two people can run the course at one time, that would be incredible ad that would take every one approximately 36-40 min to run one course. So if everyone was on their game (and not screw around) it would take around 2hours and 40 mins to run everyone through the 4 courses. the same for the second half of the day. The most important part of this would be to make sure pm judges have 1 either already set their course or allow them to skip lines and build their course while everyone else is driving and waiting in line. That way courses are set and ready to go for 2nd half of the day right away.

I have another idea too

Lol.. nice Curt! Yours is Way more detailed..

I was just doing some math too.. then saw your post..
The 300mins is 5hrs.. for everybody on 1 course..
Divide the ppl by 4.. there shouldn't be much of a reason that it couldn't be done in 4hrs..

Alot less messing around going on..

2nd idea 8 courses all set that morning...16 judges...... one judge one course at a time running 1.5 hour shifts. Judge, relieve, judge relive, then double judges on course to finish out the day. Should take about 7 or so hours.

In order to keep courses full we need to run in groups (assuming 50 drivers): groups of 12 or so running a 4 by 4 or groups of 6 if running 8 with shifts....

Not sure you guys are understanding...

If you ran 4 in the morning, 4 in the afternoon with 50 people, that would take 600min.

If you ran 8 all in the morning with 50 people, that would take 300min.

No reason to double the amount of time it takes to run and longer wait times in line.

I think we need the dedicated judges. I know for example at worlds last year the course I judged (did not build) had a boundary line that was in a questionable place and after a few went through it, it was very hard to tell where it was. I remarked it every time and pointed it out to drivers before they approached the area how I was calling it. Now with different judges all day no way would that boundary would have been called by they end of the day as no one would even know it was there.

I will throw my hat in to Judge pro and would do so for free but put me down for what everyone else is getting. (think you missed that in my earlier post Erik) I will also judge one of the other classes too. Give me one of the 2 days off though please.

As for format open all course and do group rotation. Should get through fairly quickly with little to no waiting around!

I was well aware of it taking longer to split the day in an am and pm courses. It was just a format option....(works well when your under 20)

give them their entry fees back .... how ever many classes they run. Why put the load on the drivers who dont feel comfortable judging, dont know how or the ones who only think of themselves.

It may raise the class price a little but cant be as much as paying guys 200$ to watch a course. Just an idea ......

Im not sure where this got confusing.....Maybe this approach isnt going as well as we'd hoped.

New topic: if there was no over all event/registration fee, but a charge for the classes you run..... what are each of you willing to pay per class for this event.

Answer something like this:

I Curt Callaway (this is where youd insert your name) think that a fair cost for me to participate in the RC Rock crawling championship would be $25-35 (this is where youd place you idea of a fair charge) for 2.2s class. $40-50 (again place your own amount here) to drive in the 2.2p class. And $15-25 (same here)to drive in the super class.

Please follow suit.....
