for sure. its awesome to see a blue oval body come on a production truck. i like the idea of a 1.9 clod. it looks like it should be a strong truck. idk why the whole newbie started but anyways, this truck will be a next purchase after a couple hop ups come out. i think this truck will be easy to be upgrade and customize. the internals of the gearboxes seem simple enough. wonder if it will have clod stall?

I'd imagine it'll have clod stall as it is effectively a baby clod. I wonder how the axles will hold up to a pair of E-Flite speed 400 equivalent outrunners? it's possible to run an axial on one of those, and one per axle in a cliff climber would be insane. wonder how long it'll be until a baby pimp cane is released to use these axles?

lol baby clod... The axles look Similar to New Bright Crawler Axles, they pretty much sucked, they were geared wayyy to high for crawling. I hope they arent the same... Ive preordered one on towers |

The more I see of these the more I like them.. My only REAL concern is that the little motors don't have that much torque. (this I know from my Mini-t) SO how long until someone makes 540-motor conversion plates? Jdawg, do these use standard 12mm hexes? |

Okay that was a shock! Duratrax came out with a crawler before Traxxas? Maybe because traxxas parts are on a few crawlers? Hum? I hope Traxxas gives it a shot! Does anyone elese? |

| little motor big motor really shouldn't matter if the gearing is low enough. think about a servo they have very small motors but can produce lots of torque.

| my thought is that traxxis will be the next to venture into the crawling market... it seems as tho they are willing to risk going into niche markets. i think losi is probably considering it as well.

[quote=montereycrawler;1139026] I am not totally sure what Axial's reason was for the battery mount location but being the first production cralwer they were taking a risk and I am sure they wanted it to be marketable to as many people as possible. I would assume that the battery mount was done so people who already owned or had easy access to sub-c stick packs would have a simple place to mount them. Easy for a first time builder. I built my first RC over 25 years ago when I was 12 with no adult assistance. If they want to be able to market it to first timers with no experience I think it's a simple way to make the most widely availabe battery work. im a noob to RCCRAWLER and you speak the the truth about the Ax10... plus what fun would it be if came out of the box 100% comp. ready, the excitment is finding what works and what doesnt. As an owner of one i love my Ax10. :-P |

I gotta tell you that I will be getting one of these! I have a Vendetta and I was surprised by how good it was for the price. I now people have had alot more issues with their Mini LSTs than they have had with their DTXs. The only problem is aftermarket parts are a little high prices (knuckles ect.). I am sure the vendors in our hobby will be creating quality parts for this. I look forward to it.

So you guys are saying the 380 motors are good enough? Probably for that size but what about for people throwing on 1/10 bodies and chassis while running 7.2 standard sized batteries? If it can do that it can be a great simple project rig. Who wants to deal with trannies and driveshafts! Looking at that website it also seems like the pictures are in 'actual' size? |
