It was a pleasure meeting and talking with you in Ohio. Congrats on the top 5 finish.

The stock Cliff Climber esc will not work with one battery. It requires both batteries to be installed. The batteries are wired in series not in parallel.

You do know that the early traxxas evx speed controls could be used with one battery by making a dummy connector on the other end, right. What I asked has been done before. Nothing in the traxxas specifications indicated it can or cannot be done.

I just tried hooking up just one battery with the other battery plug shorted out ala EVX style. No go so far. I will put a deans on the other side and try batter slot 2.

Mr. Ed, you could do that, but you'd end up spending more than what the RTR costs buying two vehicles.
I had lost interest in my Mini Baja when the stork brought me a revo 3.3 but I picked up a Hummer H3 concept truck body for the losi and now Lookin to do a scale "ish" ride out of her. So if I go this route for a crawler I'll get rtr. Thanks for the info.

Tell us what you find out, about a possible one battery set up. And thank you for the information on the crawler. Try the other battery lead and see if it does the same.
John do you like how low geared it is right now? Or does it need more gears or a higher turn motor?

I'd really like to get one of these, but I don't want to invest in another ESC. I have a mamba 25 with Dimension Engineerings BEC that I know will handle the two 380 motors. I'm just wondering about the battery. Will this thing work with just one pack? I don't even know of any ESC's that are made for 2 battery packs except the one from Duratrax that comes on the RTR version.

I ordered the ARTR, no need to purchase more electronics that I have no intention of using.

It will receive a Castle ESC and Spectrum Rx so I can use my DX3-R.

...these are out here in Japan now...Not a bad price...Might pick one up to kickaround and hand off to my ankle biters...

...I would really like to goof around with a cane style chassis...it intrigues me...
