| BL44ST's AKRCC "OTT" DTX
To start this off, i traded some stuff for some DTX axles and then realized that i have a chassis on the way for moa. i just got the skeeter and dont really have a use of this, untill now. stock dtx, stripped down. AKRCC (Alaska Rock Crawling Concepts) chassis www.akrcc.com axles stripped and everything removed for modding and mounting my big idea is to flip the axles upside down to get more lower center of gravity which works out well and doesnt loose ground clearance, even with the axles clocked up a bit for more motor clearance. cut the servo mounts. rear lockout done simply, mini-t links also behind the axle steering by flipping the knuckles around. servo mount wouldnt go on with out some cutting also.. probly going to make custom servo mounts to fit in with the behind the axle steering mock up for now axles not flipped in teh pick.. was b4 i came up with the idea. more to come..... tune in! |

Sounds like some good ideas. Interested on how it all works out. I was thinking the other day on how to do behind the axle steering. Good Luck keep us posted. |

Looks good. Way to think outside of the box by flipping the axles.

making some alum braces for 12.5 wb rear 4 link mount, had to measure the holes and tapped them to fit with some standoffs to raise it over the middle. also the rear top links will hit at that angle so they had to be raised also. had to shave and dremal to get the bta steering to get full potential. now for the links, i just used some 4mm brass and revo rod ends to rig up some quick links. easy to make just a die and a vice to hold it while the threds were getting put on. the front mount for the links has to be up farther to clear the bta turned out perfect for what im going for shocks tonight and bta tomorrow... stay tuned! |
