Default What to run for a ESC

I am trying to figure out what ESC would be the best to run for the setup I have. The chassis is extended, running 2.2's, banebots, spektrum DX3.0 controller, SR3000 RX, and two 6 cell 7.2 1600 nihm batteries. Any help/feedback/advise would be great.

That will run the banebots fine with two batteries?
Are all the evx2 's the same? there are some 2008's new on ebay.

I'm runnig a Mamba Micro Pro on 3s LiPo and stock motors, nothing gets hot, and it has plenty of power... the only time I get any stall is when I get a tire wedged into a tight spot, and I can usually 'rock' the tire out of the wedge. You can fully adjust it with Castle link for just about everything... including 100% drag brake!

I have a mamba max, I tried it a while back but it did'nt seam to work, not sure if I had it wired right. I was going to use it on my axial build and get something else for my CC.

I would say go dual esc's. With a couple programmable esc's you could do many things such as different power output to each motor, mess with the power curves, etc. It also eliminates the chance of power taking the path of least resistance to the motors.

gunch, do you think a Punk RC dig help to accomplish the same effect as that? I want the dig in the CC, I'm thinking it would prolly have the same effect as what you are talking about...

I use the Castle Mamba micro as well, just the perfect size.

I originally had the xl5 for a few weeks, you are severly limited... you cannot configure really too much, you are limited to I think a 2s liPo or something like 8.4v... and it's big and heavy. You could try a Tekkin system... they are absolutely tiny, you could mount it just about anywhere...

Not quite the same thing, the punk dig will let you choose what motor you want to cut or dig, but not let you choose output power. With the dual esc's, it's not going to dig, but instead it will allow you to program say 75% throttle in the front and 100% in the rear motor. This will help eliminate stall. Then you could add a dig for even better performance and cut the rear motor when necessary.

this is more what I was talking about. The Punk RC dig sort of isolates the motors from one another. Does it isolate them enought to prevent the power loss?

I'm not sure, good thought. I would think not though since it still has to have the current go "through" the dig for the motor to work when not "digging". Just my thought though, I'm sure you could contact punkrc about it, I heard there a good group of guys and easy to deal with.

Price, size, motor limits, input voltages, etc. For a CC, the micro should be just fine, it handles up to 3s and no worries on the motor limit since crawlers are generally slow.

Yeah, I run 3s with the stock motors... I get about 1-1 1/2 hour run time with very little heat, it's more the motors/ESC are warm, definately not hot. The micro is still completely set up to use Castle Link, so the settings are almost limitless on the CC

I got my banabot motors wired and tried my mamba max again, I must have had something wired wrong when I tried it with the stock motors. It rocks now. I bought 2 CC's for christmas for my son and daughter so I think I will try a mamba micro in those. Thanks for all the input/help. :-P
