The only problem I see with that is the length of the motor with controller attached. Also would you run themin parallel? If not you would need a 4channel stick remote to get the full use out of them.

ive had a torsion chassis and mounts, machined up for quite some time. never pulled the parts out of the bag.those would work killer on a linkless chassis ;)

they wouldnt be parrallel or series. independant, as you said on a super style stick radio for full control. you could do mixes though

sounds interesting. let us know how they work if you go that route. I have a stick radio laying around somewhere and a couple esc's too. How was the heat of the rs380's after running them? My stryker 480's get unbelievably hot after a few minutes of running. I can't even touch them there so hot.

My RS 380's got fairly hot but not to the point I couldn't touch them, not so much now that I have bearings instead of bushings though.

Nice, I'll give them a shot then even though I love the strykers. I just did the ball bearings too and it feels like it added resistance for some reason? Also the ones on the idler shaft were to wide to fit properly? Did you notice a tight fit with any of your bearings? Are they Duratrax or something else?

yeah still using bushing for those little ones ... funny thing is ... I e-mailed Duratrax about the bearings and they sent me a whole new set. Of course they had the same incorrect bearings as well. Oh well.

So the best motors are the banebots? but what about motors that work at 8.4v ? beside the ones from jrh (i have a couple on one of my c.c.) , what else is out there that works on 6-7 cells that doesn't stall as badly as the stock ones?

I run the banebots on 8 cells and they are fine. Anything more would be way too fast and just break stuff for no reason. You could probably get away with 7, but i have not tried it. I got a 4/5A pack for a little extra capacity. fits on the front axle pretty well. 2000mha runs longer than i have time.

Thanks maxx for the info, i am trying to help out a friend who has a rooster and it only goes up to 7 cells, he is also running the same 4/5 p 2000mah pack on his c.c. , i might use that pack also on my c.c. for the extra capcity and little more discharge capacity than my 2/3 packs.

I run the Tamiya RS380 s on 7.2V pack right now, works pretty good. So far Ièm only getting stall with a feather of throttle.

Banebot makes an rs380 thats rated @ 7.2v nominal, have a look at this link http://banebots.com/pc/MOTOR-BRUSH/M5-RS380-72 I think this is what the guys with the redcat rs10's are running.

I just emailed HPI to see if they can supply some more info. Will keep you posted.

Well HPI finally got back to me. Well the news isn't that good. They told me to look on Tower's web site for spec's since they would have it all listed. And as for anymore spec's beyond that they wouldn't have any thing.so basically sounds like HPI knows nothing about a motor they are selling. Guess someone will have to be a guinea pig and try them out. Maybe next time i order from tower i will be the guinea pig and try them out.

I got a couple of sets of these motors for my friend´s c.c. and mine also, he already ran them and from the looks of the performance they are much better than stock, they have a lot of low end torque but we couldn't get much time on them as he chewed up both front and rear diffs(time for metal gears for him), i will install them on mine this week and report back, i also got some 380 motors from some rechargeable screwdrivers that operate at 6.0v and had 6 tooth pinions on them, i'll get pics of tehm soon.
