TCS Crawler Proto Tester Frame
 

I was hoping that some people could post up some threads of there TCS Crawler Proto Tester Frames and different setups with it. Cause these are all i have.

I ordered that frame the other day, should be getting it anyday now. I'll post some photo's of it, along with my build as I go.

What the heck is with the scale-like chassis for a MOA?

:flipoff:Acording to amoron or my apologizes amorton you cant have a scale moa rig even if your not going to compete with the rig or put it in the scale section. Some people just like the look or performance of them, sure its not one hundred percent scale, who cares:flipoff:.

Therer is nothing wrong with MOA as a scaler. Its a bunch of BS that self elected officials decided to not allow MOAs in comps. Their reason, its not scale, neither are 1.9 or 2.2 wheels and tires on a 1/12 or 1/10 truck. My MOA Cliff Climber Scaler will walk all over my other 4 shafts scalers and its a bonestock setup on a stock Clod chassis. Open mouths and closed minds really can ruin the fun of a hobby!

Don't let these guys discourage you from building what you want to build. MOA's can be a scaler if done right.

Well it might not be consider'd scale to the powers to be, but my yota body on that chassis is going to be as close to scale as i'm going to get for a while. I personally think it's going to look more scale than some of the things i've seen pop up in that section lately.

Well, I moved my drivetrain over to new chassis from TCS. A little fabricating and it is good to go. I inserted neoprene fuel hose in each end of cross members and ran a #4 x 3" rod through it to tie frame rails together. The cross member is hollow aluminum tube. For the skid plate I used a piece of a black poly cutting board I had purchased from Target. It is not Delrin but it is rigid and slippery. I used drill press to drill hole through plate. I will be making a holder to keep batteries centered and protected with a shelf to hold electronics. Wheel span is about 11 + 1/4" long. Need to find a body that fits it good, maybe a pickup style. Running around with just the chassis the Cliff Climber handles good. Need to secure batteries and electronics better before trying to do to much crawling. I really like the scale looks of this frame and would highly recommend it to anyone with a Cliff Climber looking to do something different. Hope you enjoy it. Here is a picture of my initial setup. I have made some changes and really like how it handles. The only thing I need to do is add an extra support to body in front to keep it from "Bobbing".
I ended up using HPI 5 spoke wheels with some Pro-line Dirt Hogz tires and the HPI Defender body. Fixed the rear axle (No steering) and used different batteries. I will post more pictures later.
