| To much fun
I am new to crawling and I got my CC only because the prebuilt was $50. I read more than I post but thought this might help other CC noobs out thereso here goes. Have made a few changes based on what I have read here and a little trial and error (mostly error). First I did not know when I bought it it did not have ESC so after using and old Duratrax I had for a while I bought a Mayhem dual motor ESC using a single Traxxas mini Slash battery. The drag break made a huge improvement. I used 3.5 inch turn buckles with Taxxas ends on the lower front to clock axle to make the steering better. Then added 1.5oz to each stock front wheel. I then locked out the rear steer and added a longer servo arm for more turning in front. For me the rear steer was just weird so I really like the way it dives now. Last I put on Proline Moab tires (only because they were $10 out of bargin bin in LHS for all 4) on HPI wheels I had. I added 2.5oz to each front wheel. The added diamiter of the tire give better ground clearance in the center of the axle. For the way I drive each of these steps made imrovement but I think the biggest was the weight in the front wheels so I would recommend that as a first mod even if not going with different tires. Sorry so long winded just wanted to give a noobs point of view for mods. Hope this helps somebody. The CC got me hooked on crawling, it is just to much fun! |

Well I guess I jinxed myself because my Mayhem ESC cooked itself this morning. I only plugged in the batt and it started smoking. I was using the BEC that came with it and have not changed anything, it has been working flawlessly for the 2 weeks I had it and never even got to run it this morning. Natrually it is a holliday so I will not get any responce about getting it replaced till Monday.
