| My Cliff Climber Trail Rig
Hey guys, just thought I would post a couple pics of my CC trail rig. It's basically a stock prebuilt, running a single 2s lipo battery on a 1/10 ESC. The only real mod other than the body is rear steering is locked out. The body is a Parma Blackfoot body, with a Tamiya driver, a Proline roof rack, and some home made accessories such as the shovel, hammer, tow strap, and bungee cords. The gas can is off of another old RC model and I just painted it because it was originally all black. My plans are to add a more realistic grill, tailgate, front and rear bumpers, possibly a real bed, and I will wire up working lights for the whole body. |

Definitely needs some 1.9 flatirons on there. I like the body.

I think that's exactly the tires that will be going on it. Now I just need to decide on some wheels.

There's a ton of great choices out there for 1.9 now. You used to be limited but the companies, big and small, have really stepped up. Are you thinking plastic or going aluminum? Beadlocks?

Probably plastic. I was thinking one of these. Just not sure which ones. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...2&I=LXPME1&P=K http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXNV38&P=ML |

I like the stockcar rims, they look like cheap black steel rims that you find on most budget built 1:1 rigs. One thing you could do is swap the hexes to shorter ones and run the HPI rims with more offset, for the deep dish look. I think I read that stampede hexes work well, I tried some TLT hex and they worked fine as well. Just need some spacers under the wheel nut.

Good call. That's an excellent idea, and you might very well have just made up my mind on what I'm going to do. Thanks.

Great looking rig. Its getting hard to beat a CC for the price. Glad to see some more unique build going on. I vote stock car wheels painted white with a red pinstripe for the old wagon wheel look. That would look really good with the white and blue body. |

I run the flatirons on my cliff climber with 5 oz of weight in the front 3 oz in the rear and they work great on it. |

Thanks for the tips, and compliments guys. These rigs are def hard to beat considering their ridiculously low price at the moment. nascarkeith that sounds like an excellent idea for the wheels, and I think I will give it a go.

Definetly post pics if you do. Those colors look great on there and I think the white wheels will really set it off. Plus, you see lots of older pick ups with the white wagon wheels. I have 3 scalers and bought the CC as more of a comp'ish rig but after seeing yours it makes me want to slap a scale body on it. |

Do a little rust in the usual spots on the rims. Those steelies never stay rustfree for long, haha.

I might just have to do that Jamus. I'll give it a try and see how it comes out. Thanks rag6, I'm excited to see how it looks with the new shoes too.

Well I finished my bungees, the cooler, and got the lights installed in the front. I still have to finish the jack, and figure out what I'm gonna do for brake light lenses, then I'll start working on a grill. Here's a few updated pics. |

Looking good! When you get everything finished, wired, and back the body with some black you are going to be set. Now, where are those white wagon wheels? |

Yeah I think it will really come together once that stuff is finished up. Wheels should be here, and be painted and on the truck by this weekend. I'm really looking forward to seeing the kind of difference that is going to make. I think it will change the entire look of the truck.

If you are still looking for brake light lenses, Hobby Lobby sells sheets of colored transparent plastic for around $0.97. That is what I used for the lenses on my Pajero.

Thank you very much. I am indeed still trying to figure out how I was going to do them. I'll check out Hobby Lobby right now.
