| Guys Im new and getting a CC
Hey guys Im new here and I am going to buy a Cliff climber from a friend, it needs a esc and batteries.I would like to use one 6cell nimih 3600 batt with my esc off my slash, is there anyway I could do this to power both motors? If I can do but it wont be efficient I will just order the stock esc and two batts so which one would be good? thanks guys-J.c.

Should work just fine and give you a decent run time. Eventually you might want to get a split battery pack of some sort to help get the center of gravity down lower, but I think you'll enjoy the rig. Welcome to rccrawler (I think I am the one who pointed you over this way on BYT.) |

I run mine on a 10th scale ESC, Moped, and single 7.4V battery. The stock motrs would prefer more volts but it does ok. I'm upgrading to the banebots 390 motors soon in the hopes of not running more than 6-cells. I'm willing to go 8-cell but would rather not. I run 2/3A packs by the way and get pretty good run time.

I'm doing the same thing for now. One 1/10 scale esc powering both motors. Before too long I want to go dual battery/dual esc setup. I just pulled the truck out of the box about 2 hours ago and so far it looks to be a good little truck.

If you are going to purchase a "new" esc you should at least consider a crawler specific esc. A crawler specific esc has drag brake. Here is an example. http://www.tcscrawlers.com/ON-SALE-1...1-p-16415.html J |

Nice looking rig. When I was considering a CC I scanned through this whole forum, which was not that bad since the CC section is still pretty new and doesn't have that many pages. I got tons of ideas just looking at what other people did. You can pretty well accomplish most anything with a little thinking and redneck engineering. I think you can make the 2 esc set up work. Everyone told me that 2 standard size packs would work and guess what I'm running. I do agree that if you are going to purchase an ESC I would try to find one with a drag brake. I good crawler ESC might could be wired to run 2 6-cell packs so you would only have 1 ESC to worry about. Whatever you do welcome to the forum and have fun! |

Those are rock lizards right? If so they're about 5"tall, which with some ruler-on-screen quesstimating puts the wheelbase around 12". I think it's safe to say it's been extended though.
