flipped axle

Hey I'm new to crawling, and I've reading about flipping the rear axle. What does this do exactly. Any replies would clear things up, Thanks.

Not much really but it allows for a couple thing. Flipping the rear around makes both motors turn the same direction, which has it's advantages. It also makes it easier to mount longer/larger motors, though you'll still have to deal with clearance issues on the front motor. It also worked out easier on my stick build, things fit better.

The only reason that I did it for mine was to have the motors turning the same direction so that I could advance the motor timing if I want to. It also seems that If you run the rear lock out with it, you could triangle the top rear links on the rear servo plate if you want to. But I do think the truck looks better without the flipped axle. If my truck was not being built for higher speeds, I would have left the rear axle in its original config.
