Default can i remove 4 links?

ive been checking out alot of the other trucks on the site and it seems they only run 4 links total.would there be any draw backs to this?im building an MFM chassis.i think it will give me a little more wheelbase.im running long hpi shocks,i figure i can mount the lower shock to where the link used to be on top of the axle.

There are many suspension designs, including the 1-link(plus panhard bar), but I don't think that any of those are what you are refering to. Got a link to some of these build with only 4 link(2 per axle?) Perhaps they are the newer hybrid torsion rigs?
