Redid my CC...with an axial chassis!
 

So some of you remember my CC before with the 2 tone red and gunmetal body. Here it is now. About 3 days of work and tuning and adjusting and now its a 2.2 comp rig.

What im running:
- Axial Chassis plates with home made skid plate and supports.
- Stock CC axles and electonics.
- Thread rod links.
- T Maxx 2.5 shocks with stock springs. The springs are a little too stiff but I drained 95% of the oil in the shocks for now and it does pretty good.
- Still have the Losi Claws and RPM wheels.
- Locked rear steering.
- 12.5" wheel base.
- Proline Bug crawler body. Metallic blue backed with black with gold flake in the black "scratches".

My next step is to upgrade the performance as far as motors and possibly electronics. I do want to install a rear dig system since with a 12.5 wb it turns like a semi.

Thanks...it does pretty well...I really like the bug body from Proline...it rolls over pretty easily if you flip so in a comp you can try and roll it back over and not lose points for touching it.

Yeah sure thing...the chassis plates are stock axial ax10 plates...got them for free so im not sure of the part number but I see them all the time for like 10-15 bucks. The skid plate and supports were made from a kitchen cutting board. I got a set of them at Target for like $12 and used a dremel. I made the skid 1.5" wide and about 2-2.25" long. Then the links are 3/16 thread rod with the stock CC links cut and I used the ball ends on the rod. For the upper links you will need to drill new holes in the plates....it didnt articulate very well with the really short upper links to fit the stock axial holes. I also switched to longer shocks, Tmaxx to be exact. They are a little stiff and a little too long...I would run some losi shocks instead since the stock CC links are too short and youll be running a belly dragger with not much clearance. At this set up im running about a 3" ground clearance with very light weight shock oil. The links were cut about 4.25" long or so and it put me right at 12.5" wheel base. Yeah they are...I kept extra plastic on the ball ends so that I can adujust them in and out for exact fitment...this way you can make sure your axles are still clocked.
