Default sloppys cliff climber

well with the duratrax cliff climber down to 49 bucks I got sucked in and bought one. it has sat in the box for a few weeks now. today I decided no more..

Chassis TCS Ctrail
bartoschassis leaf springs
CC axles
junk electronics.
rc4wd roxlox 1.9
creatacrawler 2.0 wheels
parma J10 body
I am going to paint the grill flat white and make a tray for the electronics between the frame rails.. also need to gear down the rear the stall is bad..

Nice looking ride. You may have to gear up the front since 11T is the lowest anyone seems to be able to find. That's what I run, 12T front and 11T rear. It made a huge difference but I didn't try it with stock motors. I love those tires/wheels.

thanks man I found that last night when I was looking for pinions. I am not as worried about the stall as I am about the motor temps.. you are running the bane bot motors right? how are they for temps they stay cooler?

Not really, haha. I run/ran 6-cell and it seems to me that they got fairly warm, rear motor warmer. Not overgeared brushless warm, but warmer than I've ever seen anything going this slow get. Good old 55T lathes don't ever get hot, so it's new to me. I think the key is voltage though, short of 454's you really can't do much on 7.2V in these things. I'm going to use my CC as a 1.9 scaler, should work fine with 3.5" tires and easier terrain.

By the way, this truck is modeled after John(?) Cappa's truck from Fourwheeler mag right?

I was running this on 3s last night and there getting warm fast but not hot. this weekend will be the test I will take it on a trail run and see how it does.. on 2s the stall was unbareable. may need to volt up a little more and stay out of the throttle.

I may goto a slightly smaller 1.9 myslef just to drop the rollout.

and yes I was trying to find pics of the truck. but I could remeber where I had seem it. knew it was one of the mags on the cover.. not trying to copy his just loose imitation.

That truck was in Top Truck Challenge one year. From memory it was a cheap truck, nearly no lift, rockwells, and 49" IROKs. The paint and tires give yours away. I'm glad Parma brought this body back, I always liked the fullsize Jeeps.

yeah I did a seach after you mentioned his name. and came right up with it.. looks like I will add a HPI front bumper now because that is exactly what is on the front in one of the pics.. they have the complete build up in 4wheeler real low budget so is this

it is a cool body to small for me to run in a 1.9 scale comps. but with this setup it should be a cool little toy..

I cant wait for saturday to get on some familar rocks and see what I can get it to do.. I am not looking for comp performance but I can tell allready it should pull some great lines for a scale truck..

Still looks good. I'm still a fan of semi-scale, not bothering with every little detail and having fun running it.
