Default CC motors

how many turns are the stock motors and what options are there for higher turn motors. I see they sell some motors with different KV ratings. How do kv ratings correlate to turns? I'm also looking for a higher turn motor for my venom mini giant to slow it down and give it more torque and I was wondering if these duratrax motors would work for that and what the highest turn motor available would be.

Just get the Banbots. For $13 shipped (both), you can't go wrong.

Default cc motor turn

i took apart a stock 5000 motor and found that it is an amazing 145 turn using #32 wire. havent checked the 8500, and the 11000 motors yet.

The Tamiya rs380 is a good choice if ou plan to drop to one 7.2V battery pack.
As for the VMG ... adding a GWS/EPS 6:1 reducer and an 8t mcro rs4 pinion is your best option there. The final drive ratio is only 15:1 stock. You'll need to do se cutting and modding to get itin ... but you'll be astounded the difference it makes. I still have my old reducer mod pics saved (from wayy back in 2004). The VMG was an awesome mini scale crawler with just a few mods ... I still have two waiting on a telescoping internal spring retained driveshafts. Those will be done soon. I plan a VMG revival soon.
since there isn't a VMG forum here anymore I guess here is as good as any ... dont mind the intrusion.
