| My Cliff Climber Update
so here's the detail's so far ... stretched slightly to 11" WB, Vendetta Green springs in rear, Blue springs in front, Custom 8 cell 9.6v NiMH 1200mAh 2/3A pack, widened chassis 4mm, Traxxas 96mm link upper links, custom lowers to clock front and rear axles, MLST2 ESC, UBEC, Traxxas TQ3 and Rx, Tamiya RS80 motors, Hobbico CS-70MG BB x 2, shaved front axle face, removed bumpers, Metal gears, Ball bearings, mini DUD switch on rear motor (for front digs), Servo reverser ... and 10 bizillion miles of excess wiring (soon to be removed now that it works right). Swapped to my modified Venom Creeper wheels/tires she's got some wheel speed at 9.6v but with the 6V packs I made (one in 2/3A's and one in Sub C's - both 4 cells over front servo and two on front of chassis) it's not as fast and more 'Crawlable' It's all naked right now but I'll try and get some body on shots later. did those motors fit right in, and if im running say 2 1750 2cell lipobats (on my scaler cc) would it be a good wheels speed?

Yep, exact same mounting pattern. Same can size as well, and they have Caps already mounted internally (something the stock motors don't even have) so you should see less glitchng as well. You have to remove the stock pinion .... that's easy though, just heat it until it pops off. Just be careful about aim, as it rockets off the shaft like a champange cork only smoking hot! the shaft is slighly longer, but there is plenty of room under the stock covers. I would say you'd have a whole mess of wheel speed, as I'm using a single 8.4V 1200mAh NiMH pack. Though with two you'd likely burn them out, they are rate at 3-9.6V, so just use the one battery (or use them in parallel) and you should be plenty happy. |

Now swapped to metal outputs as well. Now using custom 6cell 4200MmAh battery pack (4 on axle 2 on chassis). Body on, and perhaps some action pics as soon as my phone charges up. I'm giving some serious thought to locking out the rear steering, especialy with the mini DUD switch in place. Last edited by Rockfrog; 10-24-2009 at 04:26 PM. |

| Got me anutha update
reworked it somewhat, sadly I also burned out my dig so gotta make a new one when I get home. Gonna need a new body now though that's for sure. Chopped/siped the Hammers a fair bit. new links, new wiring, moved the Electronics around, added a Novak Rooster Crawler, added flux rings to the Tamiya RS380SH's - required some trimming of the front axle to fit and get proper mesh, rear seemed fine. had to trim more off the front of the body. Need to add some longer shocks so I can move them from the stock location and lessen the angles there, plan to put the uppers at the shock mount at that time and reverse the mounts left to right. But that's next time. Got a couple vids to post when i get home as well. Sorry for the quality, but out here light is pretty scarce at 0445hrs. I'll try and get some better pics/vids when I get home again Last edited by Rockfrog; 01-26-2010 at 03:49 PM. |

Looks good, I'm just putting mine back together right now. I tried installing the dig switch but the evx didn't like the way it was wired (neg to com/esc, no to esc +, nc to motor +) it would just shutdown the whole esc and nothing would go. I did a test and if I just cut the groud to one of the motors with an on off switch it works fine however it lacks a fair bit of needed torque with only 1 motor (banebot) so I scrapped it. Looks like 2 esc like the roosters or even an rc4wd outcry esc is the way to go here. Looking forward to seeing this, Later. Kurt. |

well, the stock body was looking mighty small ... so ... on went an axial XC-1 body I had gotten a while back for shipping costs (got 2 actually). I have to say it looks freaking sweet on there. I've always kinda liked that body. My daughter and I were down in Victoria sunday, at Beacon Hill Park fartin' around (I had my Creeper and she had the CC) .... WOW .... it's actually working pretty freaking good. I'm impressed now. Still got stall, and I'll likely throw the 11T back on the front to minimize it a little. I'll compile the footage I got (not much 'cause we were too bust driving!) and some pics later.

| http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GTPmhmz0xU A little romp out at Beacon Hill Park, in good 'ole Victoria, BC. My duagther has commandeered my CC. With the XC-1 body it's a perfect fit. perfect size for the stretched wheelbase and no rubbing. |

Looks great Dave, that thing rips but it appears to run similarly to the Banebots. I'm trying to get some video from my brother of the Cliffy runnin to put up. I have some clod stall as well but not to bad if you juice it a bit. Body looks great on there. |
