| 12 to 12.5 WB info needed
I am wanting to get my WB stretched out to 12-12.5, and correct the steering angles on the axle... has anybody used off the shelf links to reach that length? I'd prefer to use bent lowers and just straight uppers. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I don't have the tools here to make custom links, and cannot just run out to the LHS for links... TIA |

artsifrtsi, i think i saw a post where you said that your out in the far away desert place where folks like to shoot at you? if so, i could send you a care package from out here. i mean it would prolly cost more to ship it than to buy $35 buck worth of stuff. i used a brake line bender, aluminum tubing, 4-40 screws, and a bunch of traxxas link ends. sounds like nothing, but where you are at it's like gold. let me know. i guess it's my way of supporting the troops thanks for your service kurt |

Actually shipping out to here isn't much... USPS has APO flat rate boxes, and the large box is $12 to ship, there's also small and medium boxes, but I never receive anything in them, so I don't know how much it is to ship them... My biggest setback is I have to research, then find a place that sells what I need AND ships to APO, then wait for a week to get it and try it, so time consuming...

fwiw, if you can find lower links that are around 95mm then us traxxas link ends you should be at 125mm eye to eye, for the upper links use an 89mm link and traxxas link ends to get you at 119mm eye to eye (each traxxas link end adds 15mm from the eye to the end), this should get you right were you want to be around a 12"-12.5" wb. I did the same thing only made my lowers 112mm eye to eye and the uppers are 106mm eye to eye which gave me an overall wb of 11". I don't know on the steering links as I haven't tackled these yet. You are going to have to mount your shocks on the upper links using some sort of c clamps for brakelines or something x 4, you'll need about 3mm washers and 4) 3mm nylock nuts to mount the shocks on the links using the old bolts for the shocks. Hope this helps and good luck over there. Later, Kurt.

the all-thread brake tubing custom link is pretty easy and cheap. i used 8/32 all thread, 1/4 brake tubing (NAPA anti pinch), NAPA brakeline clamps (3/8 metal with rubber insert) and revo rod ends. This builds a pretty beefy link. at a minimum you need a hacksaw and a drill. tubing cutter is better. The rest is just measuring, cutting and trial/error. The only additional hardware i used was a washer and 2.5mm locknut.

I used steering links from a axial and cut them down.
