depends what you want to make them out of. some use delrin some use aluminum. some use threaded rod and put graphite tubing over the threaded rod. many ways of doing it. with alum or delrin just use hack saw and drill and tap. I don't have a cliffy yet (its on the way) but i have seen a guy here lengthen the stock links.

To add length to the stock links I used 1/4" alum tubing. I cut the stock link in half, drilled out the center of the cut link for 4-40 threaded rod, bored out the aluminum tubing so the ID was the same as the links OD, screwed the threaded rod into one half of the cut link, slide the aluminum tubing over the rod and link and thread the other half of the link into the other end. If you plan on bending the link, leave like an 1/8" of play where the tubing slides over the link and make the bend last. Hope this makes sense.
