I thought i would get some pictures of my semi scaler to put on the cliff climber forum because not much is happening. SO without further adieu the "Duratrax-90"

I like those shots in the shallow water/mud. Looks like fun...just enough to to get in and have a good time, but not quite enough to make clean up too much of a PITA.

Did you "waterproof" or are you just being 'careful'?

Yeah the cliff climber makes a good scaler, the lack of power is less noticible when just driving around. No it is not waterproofed but i did try to fill the axles with grease to try and slow down the mud and water from getting in, i also submerged it on accident a few times but it still seems to be working fine. Alittle of topic but i have waterproofed my brushless stampede and when it gets muddy i just hose it of and oil the bearings.

Hey sweet pics Nuke, that's awesome.

If i may ask, what your rig's set up?

I just recently got a used CC which is all stock i believe and really want to upgrade/mod it out but am kind of a newbie at this (but getting more addicted, heh), and the best experience ive learned is from example. I hope to go far with it eventually to make it a formidable crawler, but any suggestions on what do to first?

OK i will try and help out as much as i can.

I am using...
-2 intellect 1600mah battery packs
-Stock esc, motors, and servo (I put in a new hpi receiver and traxxas radio because the stock one didn't work past 3 feet without glitching)
-Getting rid of rear servo and replacing with link.
-The chassis is made from an erectors set (Here is a link to my first post, it has a link to the pictures on photobucket)

A new easy to build chassis .pictures.

-I am now running droop suspension and the stock wheely king lower links.
-Hpi defender body from the crawler king, and crawler king body mounts.

The rear lockout has been bent in a crash so the back is a little of.

Sorry for the late reply! been kind of a crazy week, but yeah! that does help a little and your erectors set chassis is pretty gnarly man!

I'll def try looking into upgrading the receiver, haven't had a chance yet to run mine, (time and funds not permitting) but that's something i'll keep in mind..

was wondering though what you mean by...

is it not 4WD anymore?

anyway, thanks for responding! really appreciate it, and im sure i can find a lot more, will just have to dig a little more for research...

anyway, love the chassis. Not sure how long it it hold up though, but i've never tried that chassis though.

Sorry for the confusion, yes i do have 4wd, i removed the rear servo and mount and put a link from the axle housing to one of the knuckles to prevent the back from turning(you can see the link in this picture)

As for the chassis, it seems to be very strong, if anything ever breaks or gets twisted you can just replace that part as they are easily replaced.

I will be honest, right after I read this last night, I went and and dug up all my erector stuff and tried to peice it together with all my XMOD stuff and a die cast model I had, results.... not a damn thing.

so good work actually making it work, I might try again later.

Thanks, but i was very lucky that all the parts were the right length. For example the front and rear bumpers and rock sliders all lined up snuggly with the body were i wanted them to be.
But good luck if you build a chassis.
