sorta new need help

well im sorta new to rc crawling i bought a cliffclimber before going to afganistan and now ive been looking at it sitting on the shelf and desiding what to do with it and i wana try and do a compitition crawler build. prolly wont make it to any comps with my work scheduel but i wana see if that kinda set up will work better cause stock its not bad i guess but it rolls way to easy and i have read many threads on how to fix the clod stall. so my plan is to stretch to 12.5" i want it long and low with alot of flex. going to lock the rear steer out. going to get all metal gears and bearing set for axles. i need help figuring out what motors to run and will 2.2 tires fit on the stock wheels? any help with this will be greatly helpful and while i do the comp build i will also be building a bad ass course to test it on. also ideas on esc's would be great

I have a Cliff Climber-I bought all the metal gears-outputs-bearings-streched it to 12". I break gears and gave up and got a xr10. I also broke gears in the XR10 also but is a much better starting place. If you get a XR10 I would recommend the RC4WD gears before you build it. You have alot of choices with the motors on a XR10. I had banbot motors in the Cliff.
